Check in your history books and see how long it was from 7/4/1776 until we had a constitution to vote on let alone one in force. It's been less than 5 years for Iraq. Using the standards you wish to impose the US was and still is a failure because our CURRENT legislature can't even pass a damn budget bill. Not to mention come up with a fix for SS, mediscare, tax code, and the new ENERGY bill does absolutely NOTHING towards helping our country GET more energy it only mandates that we ALL GET BY WITH LESS. GET A REAL CASE instead of a wet paper one.

The US was created by (at the time) modern thinking people equipped with the foremost education of that day...

Iraq is attempting to be re-invented from a population that has been stagnant and backwards thinking for over a millenium...

Logic dictates that it should take LONGER than the US's revolution and not shorter...

Yup they are only trying to do it with terrorists bombing them and amidst what you'all insist is a civil war, with 3 different cultures(we really only had one and one language also)with liberals insisting that they can't and constantly interfering and MAKING DEMANDS upon them. Not to mention that there is NO MODEL that fits their culture(unless you do actually want to impose "our idea" of a democracy upon them).
