India says Pakistan-based militants nabbed

Quote:
LUCKNOW, India, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Indian authorities claim to have foiled a plot by an alleged militant group based in Pakistan to kidnap a prominent politician.

Three men were arrested Friday in Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh state.

They are suspected of being members of the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed, and were allegedly planning to kidnap a "very important political person," the BBC reported, quoting police.

Police did not confirm reports suggesting the target may have been Rahul Gandhi, son of Sonia Gandhi, president of the ruling coalition's Congress party and widow of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Rahul is a parliament member from an Uttar Pradesh constituency.

Police said the three suspects are Pakistanis who were captured as they traveled in a car from New Delhi. They said several arms and ammunition were seized from them.

Police officials claimed the kidnap plot was designed to gain the release of 42 militants in Indian jails.
Just another few "misguided individuals" like the Holland Tunnel bomb planners and the Fort Dix six...

India's just blowing this story out of proportion so they can help Bush prove there's an actual war on terror when there really isn't any...

I wonder if John Edwards knows the Indian word for "bumper sticker"...

WTF! Both these countries have nuclear weapons.
This is worrisome. Bush better get out there and lay it out for the American people.
This stuff is happening. And some people always want to blame one person or one particular event in their own life for bad stuff. That's what's going to go down.
"Bush has caused the world to burn! Impeach him and our problems will go away!"
Well, Virginia, that's a lie like the fat guy in the red suit. Think. Freaking think for yourself.
The world is on fire alright. But it's independent of things you might be tempted to connect it to.
Oh yeah. Lightening struck and then I got pregnant so the lightening must have something to do with fertility. That's what blaming Bush for things like this is like. But I know as I say this it will happen. I find myself defending the man and I don't particularly even like the guy.
Honestly. When he gets out of office I think he will be happier than Nancy Pelosi. I hope whoever does get in next has plenty of heartburn medicine and very thick skin.
