It seems like Al-Qaeda is getting stronger.... How soon till Americans will travel to Al-Qaeda camps in Pakistan? ![]() The European security agency, Europol, is sounding the alarm as more and more Europeans are turning up at Al-Qaeda training camps near the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Italian Corierre della Serra reports that newcomers, eager to join the Islamist terrorist organisation, come from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Romania, Estonia and the U.S. Al-Qaeda recruiters operate in many European countries. They are looking for troubled youths, who are dissatisfied with their lives and have a high level of anti-American feelings. Recruiters supply them with extremist literature and persuade them to join the terrorists, which a lot of the young men do. The Europeans in Al-Qaeda are controlled by Zalaludin Hakkani, one of the most dangerous Taliban leaders, who was a U.S. ally during the Afghan war in the 1980s. At the camps future militants learn the methods of counter-intelligence and how to make bombs using everyday objects. They are then sent on missions in their home countries of elsewhere in the Middle East. Zalaludin Hakkani is actively using ‘Emirs with blue eyes’, as Al-Qaeda calls its European recruits. Recent incidents include a suicide bombing at a U.S. military post this March carried out by a 28-year-old Turk, who was born and brought up in Germany. Two more terrorists were caught by German police just a couple of days before the execution of their plans. Another German appeared in an interview, in which he admitted his connection to Al-Qaeda and threatened to organise terrorist attacks against his own country. Al-Qaeda is especially interested in European recruits because they don't need visas and fake documents to go to EU countries and attract less suspicion from the police. I don't see people attacking Russians. But since Putin they seem to want to hate us. How many times will history repeat itself. Just exactly like Hitler. First you convince people that they are superior. Then soon after the murders begin. Just like what happens to Russian reporters. Or anyone who opposes Putin. I am afraid Russia is on their way to another tragedy. And they will drag all of us in to it. They don't know how to be good neighbors. They are jealous. And their jealousy is making them crazy. Its sad really. Why can't countries like Russia make themselves better without it always being at the expense of others. Its a new third Reich in Russia. And in the end thousands will die. For what?

How could anyone be sure? When your government owns your media source, you have to always doubt the veracity of the content.

Well, usually people do their own research. I think couple years ago there was a report on CNN about the same thing.
What media source does the Russian government own? |

Report: Al-Qaeda recruiting white Europeans ![]() US intelligence officials fear al-Qaeda currently training white Europeans in Pakistani camps to carry out terror attacks in Europe, North America. Intelligence director: Europeans can enter US without passport, blend in more easily Yitzhak Benhorin Published: 06.21.08, 19:26 Israel News Citing US intelligence sources, ABC News reported that dozens of white Europeans have trained in terrorist camps in Pakistan's tribal regions in recent months, in what officials fear may be the beginnings of a new breed of al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorism. Government officials suspect the terrorists, recruited in Europe, have been dispatched to plan attacks against Europe and possibly the United States. The alleged terrorists hail from Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Romania and Estonia, sources said. Intelligence officials claim the remote tribal areas along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan have in the last several years become a haven for terrorist recruiting and training. Hundreds of radicals from across the region have flocked to al-Qaeda training camps in the area. In interviews with ABC News and in a series of little-noticed public statements and reports, intelligence officials have said they believe al-Qaeda has successfully completed a major goal: recruiting and training Western would-be terrorists. "Al-Qaeda is improving the last key aspect of its ability to attack the US: The identification, training and positioning of operatives for an attack in the Homeland," according to a February Threat Assessment report from the Director of National Intelligence. "We have seen an influx of new Western recruits into the tribal area since mid-2006," the report said. Those Western recruits are thought to be more difficult to detect and able to easily enter Europe and the US and blend in with Western culture. You bring interesting links when you want to, NPR.
This is disturbing. I know Pakistan is a key player that helps U.S. with greater over all goals. But this newly uncovered (at least new to me) recruiting technique is something I hope (and I'm sure is) a priority for Homeland Security and the Bush Administration. As I've said before, I wish Condee Rice could be tapped by the new administration (whichever it may be) for use in diplomatic and war related relations. Her role heretofore, has been indispensable.
