Considering that the US is considered a 'Christian Nation', exactly what harm is there in having a 'National Day of Prayer'? Don't like it, don't participate.

People are critically ill, people are dying, our lives have been turned upside down in a matter of a month or so. Those that say **** that, are the epitome of hypocrisy - cry and wail about illegals being denied entry into this country, but spit on those who are here as citizens and are being affected by this virus.
Consider the source.

That is, PRAY and WORK for solutions.
the 2 aren't mutually exclusive.
But for some reason the mention of God only brings curses and profanity from them.

Just on a practical level i don't get that reaction, not during what they call a horrific "crisis!".
Seems to me you want to get help from anywhere, I bet if a some painted Shaman wanted an anti virus dance on the white house lawn or a bunch of Musical Celebrities wanted a concert at the white house for the Corona Virus cure they'd reverently take a day for that.
But mention God?!!

Trump may be a scumbag to many people and have many issues but I don't think he's overtly mocked God. In that much, he's got more sense than some on the left.

May God have mercy on us all.
I believe people of faith are actually hated, and detested by Atheists like Mr. Slothrop. People of faith have something that he does not have, and that is a hard pill to swallow for some. But have you ever noticed that the same people that bash Christians, will bend over backwards for those of the Islamic faith? Why is that?

Christianity is the safest religion for Liberals to attack...

They'll tell Christians how stupid they are for praying to a "non-existent god" followed by strict reverence and admiration for Native Americans praying to a wooden pole with animal faces on it...

(This is NOT an attack on Native Americans...Just showing Liberal hypocrisy)...

She would be saying just the opposite if our Government was packed with Muslims that wanted a national day of Islamic prayer.

And you would be with her, saying that we can use all the help we can get.

it sickens a lot of people now when a mass shooting happens and the powers on the hill call for prayers and good thoughts and don't make sensible gun and mental health legislation.
Remember the Lord helps those who help themselves.
and He doesn't look favorably on those who mistreat by neglect or otherwise the child, the widow or the needy.

Many people feel we already have sensible gun and mental health legislation.
And think that more gun regs won't solve the problem of mass shooting.
There are other things to be done to lessen that problem without infringing on the rights of those that are law abiding.

Remember the Lord said:
“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe."

And you're right He doesn't look favorable on those who mistreat by neglect or otherwise the child, the widow or the needy.
Does he look favorable on those that curse people's prayers to Him?

Prayer is action to solve the problem. It was considered a worthwhile activity when FDR led the nation in prayer for success during WWII. But prayer the greatest unifier is submission to the almighty instead of the State therefore it's something to be criticzed as indifference or worse.

yeah like the far right and who they have swayed with their garbage. we had gun laws before; we can have them again. and I'm tired and mad at people, including the potus, mentioning mental health and not doing anything about it. the gun craziness is the congress taking bribes from nra but the mental health thing i fear is brought on by constituents who don't want their wife beating and other mental issues to be brought to bear. and that includes a lot of politicians too more than likely.
