Fifty percent of college grads cant find work. The dems solution is lower their interest rate and raise the taxes on the kids future employers. Brilliant plan dems.

The reps want to take it from Obamacare instead since its not implemented anyway and that's a war on women.

Doesn't this make the dem plan a war on women's children?

Wait a sec...I thought they were all about letting the market determine prices?
Get back to me when you can explain the OA's inaction after GE got a refund on their taxes. Oh I forgot, GE's CEO is a member of the OA. GE good, oil bad that's real free market.

Oh wait. Except when it's the oil and gas industry - then we got to subsidize.

But don't subsidize healthcare

"I think by far the most important bill in our whole code is that for the diffusion of knowledge among the people. No other sure foundation can be devised, for the preservation of freedom and happiness...Preach, my dear Sir, a crusade against ignorance; establish & improve the law for educating the common people. Let our countrymen know that the people alone can protect us against these evils [tyranny, oppression, etc.] and that the tax which will be paid for this purpose is not more than the thousandth part of what will be paid to kings, priests and nobles who will rise up among us if we leave the people in ignorance."
Thomas Jefferson 1786 August 13.

Boehner's response to the phony war...

Quote:
“Now, we‘re going to have a fight over women’s health. Give me a break. This the latest plank in the so-called ‘war on women,’ entirely created by my colleagues across the aisle for political gain. Let’s review the facts: The president, in his budget, called for reductions in spending in this slush fund that’s given to the Secretary of HHS. The President called for reductions in spending. He may have already forgotten that several months ago you all voted to cut $4 billion out of this slush fund when they passed the payroll tax credit bill. So to accuse us of wanting to gut women’s health is absolutely not true. Ladies and gentlemen, this is beneath us. This is beneath the dignity of this House and dignity of our constituents. They expect us to come here and to be honest with each other. To work out these issues. And to pick this big political fight where there is no fight is just silly. Give me a break.”

Yeah right, Bohner and all the rest of these dirt wads sleep just fine because they don't own a conscience.
Can't let the little frail just pushing their tiny heads out of the clay oil companies miss their routine feeding. They might get mad and finagle prices higher like they do every year.

The usual histrionic response to the slightest challenge. Why do you favor impairing the already feeble Obama economy with higher gas prices and saddling small businesses with higher taxes?

Once again government meddling creates a problem, choking off expansion of domestic oil supplies then offers a solution expanded government power along with higher prices.

Please explain how stopping Obama from raising taxes to finance his latest vote buying scheme diverts the hundreds of billions spent subsidizing Medicaid / Medicare.

Free Market?
Did you mean Corporatism?
If my Gang in Washington is bigger than your Gang in Washington is,don't even think about competing!

Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power." Benito Mussolini
Don't need to try very hard to see the parallels.

Your argument would appear to be steeped in the (highly questionable) view that healthcare is (or, at least, should be) a fundamental right. More specifically, a government entitlement.

And I disagree with that premise. Thoroughly.

It is an interesting dichotomy.

But it implies a fallacious conclusion.

If oil companies are forced to pay more in taxes (however "fair" some may wish to portray it as being), they will not simply accept diminished profits as a fait accompli. Rather, they will begin charging their distributors higher gasoline prices; who, of course, will be forced to pass along those higher prices to consumers.

So it is unrealistic to pretend that we can simply raise taxes on Big Oil, and (magically!) be immune from correspondingly higher prices at the pump...
