Default Help me Shut Down Auto Update, Win 10

Need to try to do a manual Update of KB 4034674. I can't as Auto Update is always doing another try at updating the same item.

And then the manual thinks it is installed already. So can anyone tell me how to
shut down Auto Updater in Windows 10?

It has tried to update this one item over 16 times so far. Driving me nuts..

in advance.......

oh i just did this today.
so far no problems

in search space or cortana type "system configuration" (without the quotes)
click 'system configuration'
a box will appear
open the tab 'tools'
click 'computer management' (should be about the fifth one down the list)
Now instead of ok you click launch instead
Another box appears
Double click 'services and applications'
Now double click 'services'

A big long list will appear
Scroll all the way down to "Windows Update"
Double click 'windows update'

A box pops up
about the middle of the box you'll see "startup type" with a dropdown box beside it
click the dropdown box and choose:
"Disabled"
Click Apply then OK
Close all your boxes

salty ....

Ladies I shall give this a try.. As Win 10 is preparing to fail for the 21st time trying to install this KB 4034674..

Yet I fear deleting the older temp folder where MS Updates were stored is my main problem...

So we shall see..

Lollie can't quote your last post, to large.. I checked the build # for the last update "4034674" My build # isn't the same as offered. Unless that Creative Update back when changed it and MS never changed it in Systems/About.

I tried to go with the build number listed to avail.. Plus now I can't see which updates I have or failed to install. M$...

So I am just going with it as it is.. I followed salty instructions to shut down auto update.
As I get M$ Update Notices in my e-mail and can go from there.

I do thank each for your help in this matter.

Funny thing after all tries failed I did a restart and it just went on and on. So I shut down by way of the start button on the PC.

M$..............
