Default Smartphone is Losing Charge Quickly

This just started a few days go. I've had my Samsung Galaxy a little over a year and it has always held the charge for several days until now. I can charge it 100% and then watch the charge go steadily down while it is just sitting there not being used, so I have to charge at least once a day. It just went down 10% in just a few minutes, to give you an idea of how fast it loses a charge, and I haven't even used it.

Is there something I can do to keep this from happening?

This is exactly why I got rid of my Galaxy. I have the HTC now and it lasts all day easily.

Thanks, Lollie. I set my phone to Power Saving mode (which I think is like Safe Mode because it limits app usage) and then when I took it off that setting, the rapid battery drainage has stopped, at least for now. Weird.

Mikeyy, since this phone is just a little over a year old and is filled with contacts, I don't want to replace it yet and lose everything. I'd get a new battery before doing that.

I have the older flip Contractors cell phone. Takes a beating and still works for just under $400.00 new back in 2007.

Also holds a charge.. I thought why change my PC's are desktops so I don't need a smart phone.. As the PC's are enough of a problem some days.

Yet Lumara, I feel the pain, I do...

First your mouse and now this? Maybe electronics are allergic to you?

Stranger things have happened. Before digital watches and watches with quartz movement were available, I couldn't wear a watch. It would die within a month, I'd get a replacement, which would die within a month, etc. so I gave up until the technology improved.

However, I've never had computer problems like this before, and I've been using computers for years, ever since the Commodore 64 came out (my first computer).
