Default Free Avast has one tiny problem

Avast freeware does have a price... I found this at the end of their e-mail to me about giving me notice about the Clean Up Utility which I stopped using.

And I didn't want to buy.

The sensitive or personal information is your C.C. Card info and full Name and address..

So I shall not ever try any of the other product they offer.

An attempt to get you to NOT cancel your subscription. You wouldn't be any more vulnerable than you were before using it.

I use Free Avast at home, and yes, they try and get me to upgrade and/or add on. I click the 'no thanks' or the X, and move onward.

I thought so but if they put in a warning, might it be true? And all things considered it is kind of stupid to use this kind of a tactic, isn't it?

Yet I do doubt it. I was hoping to learn a bit more. My search for possible law suits turned up little.

No. Every free trial version tries to get you to sign up for the real $29.95 version.

Any company that needs your credit card information for a "free trial" needs its peepee whacked and to be ignored for all eternity.
