Default M$ Updates take us unaware..

Has this ever happened to any of you?

I hate that M$ doesn't give any warning when new Updates are being down loaded. And you have run some utility that is finished and needs to restart your PC...

How many always check before the restart or logging off the net to check the Update & Security to see if some thing is being down loaded?

So then it becomes a game where for days I try yet M$ decides when it will do it all over again.. Crap on M$...

They interrupt me in many other way yet can't alert me to the most important of all items it's Updates..

Just this very morning, it asked for an update when I clicked on the power/shut down button.

Gave the option to shut down/update later, or update/restart now.
Chose the latter, took all of 4-5 minutes with percentage of progress.
One more cup of coffee, Boom! done.

I am updated.

Work computer, I'll come in in the morning and M$ will have overridden programs or reports I have running at night, and rebooted my computer. Hours and production lost, to say nothing of the irritation.

Matter of fact, me thinks I'll be turning off the 'automatic update feature' this evening....

Normally, I would prefer it do its thang night hours when I don't have to mess with it, but lately, the reports I need to run are best run at night.

I just loaded the latest and greatest update. As usual I now I have two problems I didn't have before.

Sound is screwed up. I can't seem to find any changed settings.

Error message: VCruntime140.DLL

Possibly the two are related. The Runtime error. according to the net, may be benign or cause crashes, seemingly the sites wanting to sell you something are the ones claiming catastrophic failure.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Relax. Microsoft, as well as all the other technological companies will soon be overrun by college graduates who make dumbasses look like geniuses. Then all hell will break loose.

The only updates I got were the ones for Flash Player and the usual newest cumulative one.

PC there Lollie. But I select shut down and it hangs when it is doing a D/L of updates, then after a few minutes it shut down never completing the update.
I log in again and select "check for Updates and it then says I am updated. I check the Update history and it shows last months. So I have to wait a few days for it to do it automatically. So each day before logging off I have to check if it is updating.. A pan in the ash..

What I am saying is tell the user it is in the progress of down loading updates so we stay on till it is done..
