Avast "free" CCleaner "free" and to malware bytes. I am to dang old to fart around doing installs and un installs..

Heck I might just use what M$ provided. Their Firewall and Window Defender.

What do you think salty, Lollie?
Use it.
By the way, I just connected to Avast SecureLine.

CC cleaner is good as is Malwarebytes and Spybot.

Make sure you also clean up temporary files etc., and perhaps defragment your computer once in a while just to give more space, if you use up a lot of files etc.

Avast is brilliant. You can of course pay, but the free one is good and it flags up any viruses. You need to not click on links or open attachments from people lurpy, which is probably why you sometimes have problems. You would be careful who you let into your home so the same goes with the computer.

I switched from Avast to Cyberghost since I am on WiFi. I like it and the protection is as good or better than Avast. I have Windows 10, and I also have Defender and CCleaner. I have had no problems.

BTW, Cyberghost had a sale going and it cost 50% less, I don't know if that is still going on or not.

Lollie I never click any thing I don't know about or whom sent it. And here I very rarely even click any links except if I copy and paste it in another browser after plenty of other have talked about it. And WIFI used by me.

Notice I don't go into the movies or music much any more. I do know the basics of protection while online... But for caring

I checked and I have till the 25th so I will check out these items. I believe before Norton I did use one or more of them.. Also I don't use WiFi, period.

I use Avast free version, occasionally run malwarebites free version. It doesn't need to be re-installed, just database updated.

Wow, if you use Avast SecureLine it changes your IP address as you have to log in to your nearest location.
Wondered why I was getting Chicago's weather reports on my email homepage this morning.

Then a while ago, it was Montreal Canada.. wth?
Enough of that. I disconnected it.

Right now Windows Defender seems to be doing it's job.
Note added; I recommended it also to my son and he said it blocked him from Facebook until he figured it out.

Lurp, I have to use wifi where I am.

I understand but I sure try not to use it any more. To weak f someone wants to hack you.

See the above it happens every now and again these [I] block out letters like the i above if I place one at the end.

What I need to do is contact Norton to see what one PC will cost first. Then remove Norton entirely from my PC and go get one of these you people listed, my thanks people.

I believe you meant that message for me lurpy, and not Lollie.

It is just you seem to often have problems with your computer so I was wondering why.

Made in M$ land by dreamers......... Is why... Yet my other M$ PC a Win 7 upgraded to a Win 10. Works great.

I think this one just didn't take an update in the correct manner. Like with the last Norton update. Which is when Norton got lost and Windows defend and M$ Firewall came to life.
