Default FireFox Patches warning

Just a bit ago F.F. said I was selected to receive a patch. Yesterday I had gotten one but it didn't say I was selected. Noe did it have a popup once I downloaded it into F.F. download file. It popped up and said "not many of these files were ever downloaded.

Well before this I had made a restore point as I do with any download. So I clicked the download site on F.F. and had a choice to use it or remove it.
Yet the message was it might contain a virus made me wonder. So I removed it.

And all seems well.........

So if your selected to receive a F.F. patch (sorry I didn't bother to write it's name down) just follow thru as it has it warnings if it a bad one.

Or do a search to see if it is needed.

I left the window and the F.F. Browser open at the site which offered me this patch.

And while using another F.F. Browser I never was offered the patch. So a bit later I went back to the other browser and as soon as I put the mouse over on it. The browser went to the Mozilla Orange and had left the Yahoo front page behind.
I was about to post the news on the Russian Ambassador being killed in Turkey from the yahoo Front Page.

So one news article on Yahoo was in bedded with a virus maybe.

Also about two days ago F.F. updated to 50.1.0

Yeah, if you use Firefox, it will just randomly re-direct you to a download page for an update, do not download and run this file. It will infect your computer.

You can always check for updates here:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...latest-version

RedState for the link... I am sure some will be using it.

And it is easy to check right from the Browser.. The three horizontal lines on the top far right, left click then at the bottom under the customize there is a light blue Question Mark.
Left click it, a drop down Menu appears the last item ABOUT FIREFOX, left click it and a upgrade/updater searcher appears if the need for any update is required it will do it automatically.

It also list the present version number. mine is 50.1.0

Again for the input.

Cool Re: FireFox Patches warning

For those with 64 bit systems...

... you might try the Waterfox version...

... it's supposed to be designed for 64 bit computers.

My PC upstairs I use for business is a 32 bit.. And this newer was a Win 8.1 now upgraded to Win 10 is a 64 bit but also a 32 bit. At least I have some files that use the 32 bit.

I do thank you for the hint but I will stick with the basic.

I had to quit using Firefox, since it started crashing every day. It's a shame, because I used Firefox for years with no problems. Now I use Chrome and haven't had it crash.
