To find where it is actually coming from, you need to check your e-mails FULL headers. Using the information there you can track the IP the e-mail came from and send an e-mail back to the ISP of the offending party.

Here is a good article about the issue.

How Can I Find Out Where an Email Really Came From?
I read that article, and it tells how to tell the origin of an email in gmail, but I use Live Mail and don't know how to do that. I was hoping that my ISP would help out with that, but all they did was tell me to change my password and security questions, which didn't stop it. I'll have to do some research.

I just found a bunch on my computer, but only after I installed and ran the free home version of Malwarebytes.

first do a complete scan on your computer and report the incident to email provider(try to change your password and enable a two step authentication like text to mobile )

Laugh, I still feel like a Newbie around here. Didn't mean it to come off harsh... My apologies.

Changing my password didn't work; changing my ISP did. AT&T was being hacked, not me.

I used to get that when I was with AOL and had the AOL email account, but since changing to British Telecom about four years ago I don't get those emails. I think it was just some glitch with AOL.

I don't think changing your password helps stop spam. I can send anything I choose to your email address.

What changing the password does is prevent others from using your email to forward the spam to others.

My IT guy tells me the only way to stop spam is to change your email address.
