I was raised in a household where toy guns were not allowed.

We had the real thing but not toys. And we were raised to regard the real guns as tools, not playthings.

Hardly irrelevant or uncalled for since I was responding to the original poster's assertion that children are being indoctrinated early to the government telling them what to do.
