Car-sized fiery meteor terrifies small town as it crashes to earth

Concerned Florida citizens thought they were witnessing a real-life War of the Worlds as a high fireball lit up the night sky on Tuesday. The exploding object from space was captured on police dashcam. Citizens from North Port, Venice and Tampa all called police after they saw the fire in the sky. Scientists say it was a meteor entering the atmosphere at 40,000 miles per hour and is believed to have landed in the Gulf of Mexico before midnight.

Car-sized ones are tiny. It is the massive ones that will cause the damage that scientists will be keeping their eyes on, although I doubt whether there could be anything that could be done, (unlike in a movie).

A stone size is tiny dear P.F., opps you were talking about British cars, yep tiny they are!

But when it is the size of a normal auto or larger then we want to be warned about it ahead of time.

This is what the fourth or was there more that came in and blew up just above or on the earth this past year. Or the last two years.

I meant tiny as in the comparison of size of what is hurtling around in outer space.

Lol, right - our cars are tiny here, very true.

I saw a large new Mini Copper parked the other day. Bright red, er British red.

Now I was on the side walk and the roof only came up to just above my belt buckle....

And I could stretch out both arms and touch both the headlight and tail lights at the same time...
And I am only 160 lbs., and almost 5'10" tall. My arms are short...
