‘Easily the Most Insane Animal Footage’: What Is This Strange Underwater Creature?
Easily the most insane animal footage ever caught on an undersea camera

Remember folks, "sane people do not go in the ocean!"

And here's why:

I would live in the ocean if I could.

But that doesn't look like an animal

I agree that it doesn't. but a followup article identified it as a rare form of deep-sea jellyfish.

If this doen't turn you offf on the sea, I must try to get you a vidseo of our clam worms when their spawning. Gross cubed.

Hmm... after poking around a bit more, I see you are correct. I also didn't initially watch the video in it's entirety and near the end of it, the object did kind of flip over to reveal something that looked decidedly more organic than it previously had displayed.

Never. Go swim in the ocean alongside sharks, mantas, dolphins, manatees... interacting with them, touching them, playing with them. Get yourself into the middle of a HUGE bait ball and just watch the graceful and erratic movements of thousands of fish at once, glistening in the water all around you... enveloping you as if you were one of them. Swim in the middle of huge schools of salmon in Alaska. (And then watch eagles fishing them) Be 100ft deep and watch ****ing birds dive down that deep for food and swim around. Swim around a coral reef and watch it come alive. Watch lionsmane jellyfish so elegantly and beautifully move around with the currents. Swim around and through wrecks 100s of years old. If I could never leave the ocean, I wouldn't. I would stay there forever. The oddities are what make it even more interesting, not less so.

I used to dive a little, I do understand. About swimming with the salmon though. I've been very close to feeding Orca pods, And I can't say that the middle of their buffet seemed like a desirable place to be!

I've not been close to feeding orca pods, only a rogue male up in Alaska. I was so excited. If I hadn't been working at the time, I would have swam further out in the channel to get closer. Probably the last time I'll ever be that close and in the water with a wild orca.

But no, I wouldn't want to be close to any large animals, aquatic or otherwise, when they're feeding. LOL Hell, the eagles would fish the areas where we took snorkelers in Ketchikan and while I enjoyed their beauty, majesty, and grace, it was slightly scary having birds THAT big with talons THAT big swooping into the water just feet from you and grabbing fish.
