Angry tiresome old threads.

It's really getting tiresome opening threads and finding out that they are 5, 6, 7 years old. I don't get it. Start a new thread if you have something new for cripes sake.

I did this morning.
Not that I start threads on here that often.
The reception didn't go down so well.
So, I'll stop doing it.

I would bump up a thread if music/film related. I was considering bumping a thread about the child grooming atrocities in England as there was a dramatisation about it on tv, and some of the prisoners have been released, but that news is best buried as it is too disgusting and does not need the thread bumping. I doubt Mr L meant about any thread you bumped as the problem he is talking about is probably a bit of a longstanding thing; well, for the last few months anyway.

I like some of them because news goes by so fast you sometimes forget what just happened
but yes some are redundant or outdated.

Question Re: tiresome old threads.

So threads are not to be updated...

... with new information?

Kinda against the whole idea of the interweb...

I don't see the big deal either way. If someone wants to revisit an old thread I think it is fine. Sometimes we see how right, or wrong, we were.

Red face Re: tiresome old threads.

Why anyone would want to start a new thread...

... when there are a page of search titles on the same subject...

... some w/o replies...

... is beyond me.

Mebbe some are too lazy...

... to use the search feature...

... on the toolbar at the top of the main page...

... hint, hint.

Or mebbe dey just want to 'steal' a topic already taken.

To be fair just because the title of the thread is relevant, it doesn't mean your post is.
