The former has nothing to do with the latter. (Unless obesity was the search word and no attention was paid to the opening post).

Great idea and I use the shout box to convey the same message to no avail.

Besides if we are speaking about the same member he isn't doing himself any favors by doing it. So many lost new thread points., that he could have had.

I have decide to just click the unsubscribe link and lose the dang threads.

Well if you come and log in and there are 21 old threads you once were part of and now some newer news which isn't up always so new. And you don't spend that much time at P.W. Yea it is a bother.

Plus what the ladies have said.. Below. But hey I decided to stop asking and delete each one as it comes up. Which isn't what I wanted to do. As it takes some time to...

Time I don't have.. As I have other things I have to do like it or not. So yes I am bothered that my free time is taken away from me and that I have no choice but to delte so many threads that I might want to be part of on some other occasion.

Just unsubscribe from the thread. Takes half a second.

My for being so understanding...

Yet I avoid doing that because other news as Waltky has shown comes up.

Plus if I started the dang thread why should I do that?

I have suggested that he post all of these items in one thread as it would be there for as long as he is here. Plus he could see the readership he gains all in one thread.

I do hope he entertains this idea and try it out for a while to see if it a better way..

I wished I had done this to begin with, as it is much easier to maintain. And I would also come in and read them.. As I find most quite informative..

As would others beside members. And that is what each one of my older threads is about. The readership. That's why I did so many. Check the number of hits each thread gets from week to week if they are updated.

And I do :thank waltky for doing that for me. I just get tried of so many when I come here for a hour and to read and go to so many uses my time. That is my . I am not at waltky just want time to post my own news. Hell I thank his post more times than most others here.

Well only eight more of waltky new posts in old threads left in my User CP..

old threads are cool.

many Old threads cover info that's good to review in the light of new circumstances, or see for the the 1st time because it was completely missed.
or sometimes so you don't have to makes the same points AGAIN.

I know i've updated threads with court case that have taken year plus to conclude. And some old tech threads that have new info.

I'm still not seeing WHY some don't like seeing old threads. Other than someone doing it "too much" or someone say... reviving a thread about cookies to talk a about donuts.

Old threads should be coupled with comments, views, substance. Anyone can copy and paste from articles. I like to read what other people are thinking about that opening post and have a discussion, or watch the discussion. Some people start threads, then run and watching the ensuing arguments. Then there are other opening posts that don't have any replies, perhaps because there is nothing to say. An opening post with a question, or a comment is more useful.

Agreed...

Many times, I've seen a post with an article (and nothing else) and think, "AND??!?!?!"...

Also, when introducing an article, put forth your opinion and how it relates to what you want to show. Posting an article without commentary makes other members say, "And your point is?!?. Provide your point within that first post. Let them know where you stand. Even if it's just a few sentences.

And I have as you do in this post and have done in the past. Remind members that they need to offer some comments or opinions to go with the posted topic.

I think some don't do it because sometimes others will come in to debate the comment or opinions more than the posted material.

Yet after this past Memorial Day Holiday I was reminded that I can have opinions and need not debate them.
As I fought for the rights of all Americans to think as they like. And like all Americans and most people every wheres I can be conflicting and voice an opinion while mocking another for theirs.

And I need to curtail doing this. Besides it doesn't go with my newer image of humor over strife...
