Thanks, guys! Part of me wondered if you would even remember me and the rest kinda knew there's no way I could be forgotten. I was happy to return to see messages asking after my well-being. It was very touching.

I'll give you a brief run down before jumping back into the forums again. I became very ill for a while and I had to make choices about where I spent my energy. I also made some very poor choices about how to increase my energy to work through my illness and it led to some serious, negative consequences in my life. The reverse side of all this is that I am a completely different person today than I was when I dropped out of contact.

Over the last year and a half, I have done things I never thought I would, both good and bad. I have achievements I am proud of and I have misdeeds that I am not so proud of. But the most important thing that has happened is emotional and spiritual growth that never could have happened had some of the events of the last year not occurred.

I saw Hairy mention the forum may not be able to handle the assholishness of both of us. Well, it won't have to because I have a much different approach to life than I did before I left. I seek more often to understand than I do to be understood and I have an abundance of gratitude for human connection through whatever media I'm using. Whereas I used to see conflict as a conquering of each other, today I see it as an opportunity to conquer a situation together and I strive to take a "power with" rather than a "power over" approach to everything.

I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out in an inherently combative arena like a political discussion forum. This site holds a special place in my heart because I have always considered it my "home on the net". I'm so honored that I have been remembered and received such a warm reception from you guys upon my return. I can't wait to hear what's been going on and to share some of my journey and recent lessons with you, as well.

It's feels great to be back. Big Hugs from me to you, guys.

Great to have you back, and I'm sorry for your illness, I have to add you to my prayer list.

That being said, give it a few days and we will get you back to the dark side in no time. LOL!

Health issues do have a way of realigning one's point of view, speaking from experience. I hope that whatever it might have been, you've found a way to deal with it, and you have your support people in place.

Seriously, welcome back. We may not always agree, but the arguments were always fun and educational! Well, that and the snark.......

I know what you mean, it does kind of feel like family here, and just like family we have our disagreements. No reason to get too serious though, since none of us will make it out alive, we need to just enjoy the good where we can.
