Default Hi everyone

I have heard about this site and found it finally in a roundabout way tonight.

I am what I consider right of center. I'm pretty socially liberal and economincally conservative. My issues I consider voting issues are pretty conservative (for example I am pro gay marriage but am not going to determine my vote based on that. I consider economic policy much more important).

I live in the Chicago suburbs in Hillary Clinton's hometown (the actual Illinois native). Single never married.

I am a devoted actual aunt by blood of 5 born in the last 3 1/2 years and an honorary aunt of 14.

I work in HR and also in data production and accuracy for a small Chicago area company (We're too small to really have a full time HR department so it's part of my job but not my whole job).

I'm a huge sports fan. I love the Cubs (they are bad), Bears (They are going to be awesome this year), Bulls, Blackhawks and my alma matter Northwestern football.

Religion wise I consider myself a Christian as far as the general beliefs of the faith but don't really belong to any denomination. I attend a non denominational church when I do go.

I am on a personal health improvement right now where I dropped over 120 pounds in the last 18 months. No surgery or drugs. But have a long way to go.

I only watch 2 tv shows. Castle and Bones.

Looking forward to posting and getting to know the others here.

Greetings!

I lived in Chicago for four years while attending college. Great city to live in with much culture and things to do, not to mention the best blues and Italian beef sandwiches in the world!

I anticipate your thoughts and views.

Thanks for the welcome! U of C? DePaul? UIC? Just curious.

I love it here. If you can't find something fun to do in Chicago on a summer eekend you aint looking hard enough. Actually pretty much from March through November. During winter it might be tough but you usually can as well.

I worked at U of C for a few years. Considered graduate school there.

My family bleeds purple. Even our dog sort of went to Northwestern. He's used in pet therapy and the program he was trained at was based out of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Welcome, and fantastically well done on the weight loss. I too have lost a huge amount (more than you) also without any intervention other than professional cognitive behaviour therapy. I know how hard it is, but maintaining is harder of course.

Anyway, again a huge welcome from across the Pond in London England.
