Well, it likes things are getting better here in San Diego, folks. We have the sea breezes now, so firefighters are being aided by Mother Nature. The population at Qualcomm Stadium is down to 1,000 people, as most have left and returned to their home, if they are still there.

The Chargers may yet play their scheduled game at Qualcomm Stadium. President Bush should be arriving soon, if he has not already. I guess learned from Katrina helped in the efforts in trying to help the victims of the fire.

I see that two arsonists were arrested in the L.A. area, and another was more harshly dealt with by police.

Great! We've been keeping up with some of the news. As I'm sure the rest of the nation has.

By the way I never drank beer (or other alcohol) till about 10 years ago. Not a connoisseur, but of the beers I've tasted I like Corona. I like to mix a little wine or Sprite with it.

I discovered Sam Adams over 10 years ago. I visited the brewery last month in Boston. And I may have some of that when I bowl tonight.

Oh yeah, I visited the Cheers location at the Beacon Hill location in Boston, too. Had Sam Adams there, and met one of the actors, Tom Babson.

I worked the Chargers' game yesterday as they stomped all over the Houston Texans, 35-10. I worked as a ticket-taker first, then worked inside as an usher. We were pretty badly short-staffed, as a number of young people, and probably some Marines, could not make it to work because of the fires.

Before the game, several people involved with the firefighting effort were recognized as they went on the field.

Please take a look at the front page. You will see that the governor was there. It was really an emotionally-charged afternoon. You would think that God was on the side of us and the Chargers' team. Truly, it was a blessing for all of us.

Before the game, there were Salvation Army volunteers with buckets taking monetary donations. I don't know how much they collected, but I sure it was more than the $200,000 collected four years ago in Tempe, AZ, when the Chargers played there because of the fires here.

The crowd was listed just over 60,000. The game was sold out, but of course, people impacted by the fires could not make it to the game.

I saw that place from the outside as we were getting lost in Boston in a diesel truck pulling a trailer with spread axle.
Ended up running over a phone booth and a stop sign. Didn't get a ticket, though.

I hear that it is easy to get lost in Boston while driving. I rode the "T" the whole time I was there. From when I landed and took off at Logan Int'l Airport, the "T" was a great way to travel. I rode every line except the Blue Line. I took the Green Line to Fenway Park/Kenmore Station, Copley Station, Government Center; the Orange Line to Stony Brook where the brewery was; the Red Line to where I walked to "Cheers".

So very efficient, too.

Wow!! We are getting a good soaking rain in San Diego. I wonder if the Governator prayed for us.

If he did, I bet the ACLU would go to court and try to put a cease & desist order on the rain...
