Smile Hi, Forum! It's Forester.

Hello, all!

I'm Cynthia, but my friends call me Cyn.

A little about myself, for those that don't know me. I live in the Chicago burbs with my wife, Jen. (If you dont like me using that term, hey, it's 2007 already, get over it!) We've been a couple since 1998, and had our commitment ceremony on a Maui beach in 2002.

That same year, we adopted a little girl who had been carelessly thrown around (abused, if you prefer) in the foster care system for years, her whole life to that point. I knew we were rescuing her her, but it turns out she rescued us as well. Bringing her into my life was the best thing I have ever done... possibly the best thing I will ever do.

I'm a professional writer, instructional designer, and classroom trainer. Until recently, I was self-employed, but then a client made me a job offer I couldn't refuse. Paid vacations, regular paychecks, and domestic partner benefits... I could get used to this.

I consider myself a political activist, and as you might guess, I lean pretty far left. My elected representatives at all levels are quite aware of who I am, where I stand, and, no doubt, quite tired of hearing from me. I am heavily with the gay rights movement, but also very outspoken on poverty, hunger, the environment, and of course, the evils (gosh, there are so many) of the Bush administration.

Well, that seems like enough for now. I look forward to some intelligent, spirited, and respecful debate on these boards, and to making some new online friends here.

Take care, all!
-F814

P.S. Thanks, KOS, for the invitation!

LOL!

She totally doesn't need it. Cyn is highly intelligent and holds her own.

She is friends with a few of us that are here, as a note!
