I just joined the forum after lurking for a few days. I'm looking forward to participating, it has been a while since I had the time to do so at a forum such as this. A recent car accident has left me with a broken hip and I'll be stuck indoors for some time to come. So you may be seeing a lot of me for a while.

Sorry about your injury. Ouch! I also got into forums as a result of illness. Then I got hooked.

Thank you for your cordial welcome. Ouch is the operative word, I've only been home from hospital for a few days and am already tiring of being stuck indoors. Diversions such as this website are what I hope will alleviate my early onset cabin fever. Did I mention I live in a three story condo? I'm going to be a first floor dweller for some time.

It has been about five years since I participated in a forum such as this. I was recommended this site some time ago, I bookmarked it and not until now have I had the chance to visit it. I am hopeful that I can have some interesting exchanges during my stay.

Well I was completely in the dark these things existed till about 4-5 years ago. I was chronically ill (as opposed to today when I'm chronically lazy ). Until and even after corrective surgery I searched for something to fill my time and mind. I thought history would be nice. so I went to a chat room that said "history" and they were all talking about sex and dating.
I finally did find some good history sites but they weren't interactive and that was OK cuz interactive on a computer looked kind of dorky.
I guess I googled "politics" and found viola! There are forums where people discuss and argue their views!
oh I could say the rest is history but I won't hit you with a sorry pun like that. Not when Mr. Liberty and cnredd are so much better at that than me.

Perhaps you have a point there? My left shoulder and my left hip both sport titanium ball joints. That joke was actually made by my mother a few days ago. I feel certain that the next time I try to run it will resemble a slow motion Bionic man clip.
