I, also, see the message as a bit strange given the general teachings of Christianity.

At the same time, I must note something interesting... Material weath is often construed as an 'evil' in teachings. Even though I'm not too keen on their ideas, the the upside is that they are stripping away that negative association wth it.

Not saying good or bad, just IS.

Either way, the words of Jesus is being fulfilled; those who are not His will be deceived.

I don't think it is that simple.

If someone is raised in such a church, with these beliefs, and accepts Christ, you think that this person will go to hell?

It is the same question that I sometimes ask about people that live their lives in a honorable way without being exposed to Christianity. I'm not inclined to believe that they would be subjected to eternal punishment because of it.

It's a non-issue for me since I believe in reincarnation, but there you have it.

Wow ok get me thinking this morning KOS.

I do think that God does bless us when we are living as He sees fit but I think those blessing come in forms of health, happiness, love, very little or no "up hill battles" etc. Which in turn can be converted so to speak into material things. When you are healthy you can go to school and get an education which will help you to get a good job or keep a good job which gives you the money to live well. Or when things are running smoothly in our lives it allows us to reach our goals and succeed which again can create wealth.

I truly believe that if you are living a life that God approves of things just fall into place and this allows one to focus more on their goals and that can mean material things.

I wonder how long if someone is truly converted and is among the miniorty, will that person keep going to that Church? After all if they see that they are not really being fed spiritualy, would they keep going there? Would you keep going a store if you can never find what you are shopping for?

This is an easy question to answer from the Bible, but let me ask you this;without the scriptures how would you know that what you believe is correct?

Reincarnation is silly, if it were true then everyone would have a recollection of pass lives, as Jesus did when He became a man. Jesus did not forget who He was and where He came from. Human beings are so so easily influence by evil spirits.....it is as easy as wind moving over the ocean, as the book of Revelation shows. It does not take much for demons to influence the human mind, deceiving them into having false memory.

But then, that's another topic.

Moved the 'Christian Philosophy' posts into their own thread, under that title.

There is nothing wrong with the Church asking for money to support the work that they are doing (the Bible shows that it was the members of the Church that supported the work, and not those out side of it), the problem though is a lot of them are telling people how much they should give. Though in the Old Testament, when the Israelites gave to the Priest they were only required to give a tenth or what they earned.

Also part of the problem is that many people do not study the scriptures, which makes them vulnerable to being mislead. But then again, as I often quote what Jesus said, "My sheep hears my voice." Those who are truly Christians will not follow another voice no matter how sweet and pleasing they may sound.

That's true...but as I said before, Jesus said that His sheep hears His voice. In other words, those who truly speak God's words Jesus' sheep/brothers and sisters will listen to them. But those who are not true believers it will not be so easy for them to tell the difference between false ministers and the true ones.
