Default Judge Barrett

Judge Amy Coney Barrett, of the Seventh Circuit--who is under serious consideration from President Trump, as a possible replacement for the retiring Anthony Kennedy--has recently been savaged by the left for her religious beliefs. (She is a practicing Catholic.)

Basically, the Catholic Church has been described as a "cult" by her detractors.

I would suggest that this serves as a mere proxy for the left's phobic belief that she might vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. (The Catholic Church, after all, remains strongly opposed to abortion.)

Comments?

Opposed to abortion? Oddly a majority of catholic don't. Even the Pope has some doubts.

But like all religions, the Catholic church is an invention of man. Man is fallible.

I doubt Judge Barrett has intentions of challenging Roe V Wade. That fear is a Cunard. What she is most likely to do is review any challenge of any judicial social engineering through the lens and aperture of the USA Constitution, AS WRITTEN. Not as believed to be intended by scholars who weren't in the room Independence hall Philadelphia PA July, 1889.

That, of course, is what scares the hell out of the left.

This is probably true.

Because of the gradual secularization of our society, most "Catholics"--those who have merely inherited their religion, and who have no real attachment to it (other than, perhaps, to its culture)--are likely to be like most others: simply indifferent to such matters.

I don't think PJohns has posted anything close to fake news here. He has, instead, posted a thread about fake news.

To be clear, the subject of the OP is most definitely real.

I think this article from Life News is probably pertinent here: Abortion Advocates Think Amy Barrett is a Member of a ?Cult? Because She?s Catholic | LifeNews.com
