I think it's only right that Christians apologize when they are wrong....especially when they have wronged someone in their words or deeds.

What discussion is supposed to come out of this thread anyway?

Basically, these are apologies from Christians for being "un-christian". Christianity is not a title, it's a form of living, which unfortunately many Christians do not understand. But, we are only human...

Okay, then let me ask you this, tristanrobin: what was the purpose of your starting this thread?

Since you started the thread, it's your input that I'm interested in figuring out...and only you can provide me with it.

The way I see it, this is a good thing...

This shows that there are Christians that have a moral compass that lets them know when they've been a dick...It's the logic of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Telltale heart"...You might get away with something publicly or legally, but inside, your guts get tied up in a knot because YOU know what you did was wrong...

This is the direct opposite approach of anti-Christian groups, who can be equally dicks yet never have to answer to their soul...Therefore, you never see these groups confessing anything, but nomatter how much of a dick they might be, they still sleep soundly because they believe they never have to answer to anyone for their actions of dickness...

Unfortunately, I do see alot of "we" answers...These individuals don't speak for everyone...That part is right up there with morons who apologized to the world because America re-elected Bush in 2004...

So then maybe the purpose of this thread is to expose Christians making apologies for wrongs they have committed and judging the merit of those apologies.

Hmmm....

Well, Cnredd, I happen to see it "slightly" different.
It's very simple...there is no clock ticking, or revelation to be had...people know immediately, the difference between right and wrong....it's not something that comes to you, days , weeks, or months "later".
I don't know who you mean when you refer to "anti-Christian" groups...even atheists have moral compasses.
What mystifies me is how "a group" like, say, "Republicans", can allow the representative of their party, President G.W. Bush (and Co.) get away with such sin and crimes against humanity, and for them not only to not call him on it, but to encourage his policies, which fly in the face of his "professed" "faith". He is no Christian, by any stretch of the imagination...
Neither are most Republicans...they are "Christians for show"....vying against each other, who can put more ducats in the offering plate...who can wear the most expensive and festive attire....oh, they have no problem letting everyone know their "tithing"....no wonder they love to blur the lines between church and state...for them, no lines exist , at all...and why not? After all, if they bring up God often enough, it means that they are more Christian...and if they support Christian-leaning rhetoric (faith-based initiatives, vouchers, prayer in school, anti-abortion, abstinence, anti-homosexuality, marriage between a man and a woman (only), then the Christian Right, blesses them as politicians approved and called by God, Himself....So much bull ca ca.
God, it is written, despises pride, and vanity, and displays which are more about self-indulgence than worship of His Godhead. Judgment Day, ought to be something else....folks thinking they have their front row seats for the pearly gates, only to have St. Peter stamp, "void", and point them in the other direction..lol.

You wrote, "That part is right up there with morons who apologized to the world because America re-elected Bush in 2004."

The Worst President in History? : Rolling Stone

My partner, who is European, remarks that arrogance is one of the reasons America has such a poor rep right now...talk about "trailer trash", in the eyes of the rest of the civilized world....people like you, care not what the world thinks, when we used to...when we were the gold standard that the rest of the world aspired to...now what do they aspire? To things? Ipods, cell phones? Starbucks? McDonalds? Coke? Blue jeans? HD tv? Those are "things"...not ideals...we lowered ourselves so much that integrity went out the window, and all we have are things...things which break, and don't last.
Sad commentary, if you ask me...and I know you're not...I'm just saying.

What these Christians are doing is Biblical:

So if you are about to place your gift on the altar and remember that someone is angry with you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. Make peace with that person, then come back and offer your gift to God.
Mat 5:23 -24

Just thought I'd throw that in.
