Oh and before you take the next step, which would be a mistake. I don't lie, cheat or steal. So my profile is on the money. Why because I fear no one or have a reason to.

I once wrote a paper in school (6th grade) comparing Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. I found their fundamental precepts similar. And there are many more similarities between Islam and Christianity, than differences.
I did the same thing for an English class in junior college. This time though, the contrast/comparison was Baptist and Catholic. The basic doctrine of these two forms of Christianity are almost exactly alike.
It's funny what you find out when you read.

Have you ever wondered about the similarities between Islam and the old testament. I did and went to the library and checked out the Koran and another book about the Prophet Mohammad and his history. Like the latter day saints. Both think God work was undone.
I never felt God work was unfinished so for me to buy into either is foolish. So many verses alike yet the names change from the Jewish to the Arabic, which of course changes the entire story from truth to false witness and the dating of the religion. That got to me.
You need to read some earlier history on Mohammad as the newer is not the same as the real firsts works. Many lived their entire lives in the middle east who were English and know the real stories, not the work up Islamic scholars write today. And very few other writers do so because of the threat of death for telling/writing the truth.

This is true.
The origins of Islam that I read about some 40-45 years ago tell of two Old Testament prophets appearing to Mohamed and giving him the good news about the messiah so he could spread it to his part of the world.
And I thought this was sound because look what a hard time he had spreading a new religion. Can you imagine how far a Greek or a Jew would have gotten?

As for the Mormons, the basic story is that Jesus appeared simultaneously to the Native Americans during his 40 days post Easter walk on earth. And after all he is God, and wants all to come under the blood, so why would he have left anyone out?
Jesus himself is supposed by many to have studied eastern philosophy during the unaccounted for years of his life. Another way to look at it is maybe he went there or somewhere to learn how to use his power.
And taking this further- -Socrates went to the east and came back convinced there were not many gods as the Greeks worshiped, but only one.
Some of the native Americans of the regions now in the U.S. certainly knew about a single creator father.
I think people have done the same thing to those ancient truths that they did to Christianity. Twist them to meet their own selfish goals.

As always, one's faith must be demonstrated in the evidence thereof. Its true, faith cometh by hearing, but this is only part of the equation. One must investigate that which he hears to see if such is indeed true. We are instructed to search the "SCRIPTURES" to see if these things are so. -- Acts 17:11. As indeed the truth of God is only to be found in His revealed words, as His words are stated to be true by the Christ himself -- John 17:17

There is no passage to be found in the entirety of the Holy Scriptures that states UNWRITTEN TRADITIONS or CUSTOMS or LEGISLATIONS of any formal religious organization are to be considered as the standard upon which to base our DOCTRINE OF FAITH. But, conversely so, the Holy Scriptures claim to be self sufficient to provide THE MAN OF GOD with EVERYTHING to make him PERFECT -- ll Tim 3:16-17. If one is made Perfect -- ll Tim 3:17, And lives under the grace of the "PERFECT LAW OF LIBERTY" -- James 1:25, just what authority does one have to leave the Doctrine presented in the scriptures to search for FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE? For indeed if ALL TRUTH rests with the words presented to the Apostles of Christ via proxy of the Holy Spirit of Truth -- John 16:13, just what truth is to be found outside these words? For it is physically impossible for all truth to be presented more than once and confirmed as such again, as this truth is stated to have been 'ONCE DELIVERED' to the saints of the 1st century. -- Jude 1:3.

This indeed makes any "so called" revelations from God after the 1st century....a very CONVENIENT LIE. Such as the faith of Islam which claims that an angel of God presented them with "extra and true" revelation some seven centuries after ALL TRUTH had been revealed ONCE in the first century and delivered by the Apostles of Christ...who had been granted POWER FROM ON HIGH TO DO JUST THAT -- Acts 2:7-8.

And, in fact we are given this warning, "But though we, or an ANGEL from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you......LET HIM BE ACCURSED." -- Gal. 1:8

As always my intent is only to DEFEND THE TRUTH PRESENTED IN THE SCRIPTURES nothing more....nothing less. If I fail to do as much I not only deny my faith....but myself. Thanks. BD

And the scholars of today use the ancient teachings. Some Blind faith idea that got way to far left of center.
