![]() Did SNL cross a line in "DJesus Uncrossed" skit? | Religion News Service
What do you think? Even the Moslems found it offensive. |

![]() Many forms of satire cross a line that in one form or other, that is what makes it satire. It is about time for the religious world regardless of cult you believe in, to lighten up and except what life is really about survival of the human race which humor is part of.

![]() Not my cup o tea but since SNL is usually political satire, let me see if I can figure it out.
Christians are (right or wrong) identified with the right in this country. The right (true or not) is identified as liking Rambo-ish type violence. In your face is what SNL does. I think it's not so much about Christ as it is in his supposed followers and where their hypocrisy lies?? Just guessing. No I didn't care for it but didn't get offended by it. On the surface it looks very disturbing like it comes out of the mind of a deranged child. On closer examination and in light of the show's history, I'd say it's asking us (as Christians) to look inward, and it's asking non Christians to view the hypocrisy. ![]() That doesn't mean I agree with those statements either, just trying to break it down.

![]() I actually thought it was hilarious. I am a huge Tarantino fan and I love how they incorporated some of his big hits.
I don't see how it is offensive at all. Hell is it any different than Robot Chicken's "Kill Bunny" Kill Bill Jesus Spoof? Or Jesus Christ going on a Commando Mission to save Santa Claus after his sleigh is shot down over Iraq? "My Children, there is something you should know...I'm packing!" ![]()

![]() When I first started watching the clip, when he said Guess Who's Back, okay, I smiled.
Then giggled a bit when he said the H is silent. Other than that, the rest was just bunk that kinda offended me. That said, I liked the Bill Maher film Religulous even tho I can't stand Maher. 'Tis a very fine line when it comes to sarcasm.. or maybe I'm just getting old, bitchy and grumpy these days.. LOL |

![]() They showed it again tonight in prime time. At least that is what I think it was.
