I didn't notice anyone posting it so I decided to try and get others opinion relating to this.
If anyone care to do so. But to give an opinion one should read it all I think.

NIV is a very good translation right from the original texts KJ was done from. But it lacks the poetry of King James. Those people were truly inspired!

I guess I didn't make it quite clear. I have over 21 Bibles a few very old. And a mix of the more mordern ones. Like the NIV my wife bought me.

As I was using my KJV of Schofield, which has many markings and has a lot of yellowed passages, from a lot of studing and simple readings.

It is right behind me and the large NIV is on my dinning table upstairs. The others are stored for now.

When I get to it and steady the two new book shelves they will be placed on them along with the rest of my books.

So for now I use the two but prefer the older Schofield, and it's added content, giving insight to a deeper meaning of what I just read.

I guess I said all that to say this, as long as the readers come away with the main point the Bible is trying to make all is well.

And as we use more than one Bible we are assured to understand more and with better understanding.
