Most people formed their beliefs by ingesting them whole as they were regurgitated from sources like the Daily Show, and Jersey Shores, or from vapid pop singers, or bitter, unionized teachers.

In fine, most people are politically illiterate. Ask ten random people to name the three branches of the Federal Government and the two Houses of Congress to validate my point.

You see more and more independents largely because thinking is too much trouble, while parroting is fun and easy, or because working to build or correct political parties is too much work.
