I don't agree with this, watch the video and you'll hear a better solution offered.

I have several friends who are atheists, and we talk about this crap all the time. They say if these people are truly atheists it wouldn't bother them that a book is in the room, or a cross is some where that they go. They tell me if you want to worship a book or a couple of sticks put together go ahead you're just wasting your time. Those so called atheists who wish to push religion into a closet are usually people who have doubts about what they believe and don't want to be reminded of their doubts.

That is very well said!

Those that are solid in their beliefs, be it religion, politics, sexuality, etc, don't fear seeing symbols or people of other standings.

If you don't mind, I will copy this (with proper credit, lol) for future use with some friends of mine. Be confident they will say the same as I did, that it is very well said.

Stupid issue. Why in the heck would I care if there is a Bible in my room?

So long as they were being provided by private funds, I don't know why anyone would care.

There are real violations of the rights of non-believers but bullsh*t like this just detracts from those issues. I don't even like being associated with those who think this kind of petty complaint is worth causing a fuss over.

I don't know why anyone would give a rats ass what mythology book was in their room. As long as the GOVERNMENT isn't providing them, I see no issue.

good point.
What people call atheists nowadays are often actually anti-theists.
Not the same thing.

Post Re: Air Force caves to atheists

I want to see somebody force one of these atheist groups to qualify their religious request under a freedom of religion complaint.

(Yeah, yeah. I know that some people do not see atheism as a religion. The point would be more along the lines of making the imposing atheist group to qualify their request as such.
If it doesn’t, then it could easily be argued that it doesn’t qualify under first amendment.)
And even if they were to qualify it as a religious request, it should be rejected.

The book is typically tucked away in a drawer, available to those who might want it and avoidable by those who don’t want to see it.
This request is stupid and I wish the Air Force would have told them “No”.

Now that's an interesting distinction...

"Atheism" is a religion like "not collecting stamps" is a hobby.
