Other than belief in supernatural gods, what is it exactly that some, here or elsewhere, are asserting athetist parents don't teach their children?

I'm not sure I see anyone here making that assertion.

They attempted to raise me Catholic, so I'm pretty sure Catholics shouldn't be parents .

It would be cool if someone hunted down the lady in the article. I wanna know how the story turned out.

Which is why I included "elsewhere". Isn't that assertion part of the OP question if not then what is the question asking?

I would think you should ask the "elsewhere" people, as the people here are not making that assertion.

It doesn't really work to well to ask people to substantiate positions they have never had and actively oppose ...

Then you and I agree that this debate is dead, which was my initial point in referring everyone to the original, outdated 30 year old context.

I'm not sure what you mean by "OP" question. In fact my first post here was meant to put the whole bullshit in context.

I support stable parents.

That's it.

Stable parents or even just any devoted parent.

There are far many more orphans in this world than prospective parents. I can't think of a more undeserved sentence in life than the conviction a never adopted child receives.

Atheist, homosexuals, opposing religious beliefs, opposing racial realities, whatever... from my understanding the demand for good, vetted, positive role models in the lives of children either abandoned or through circumstance without parents is so HIGH ... that I could just never discriminate through law any bias regarding adoption rights. If they are good parents, they are good parents.

Thanks for clarifying.

Things were quite different in 1970 and I'm not really sure how that article got dragged to the surface...

I guess if you weren't looking close you might have missed the date, but who brought it up where that prompted the poster to start a thread here is curious.
