Default Pete Buttigieg says supply chain woes could last as long as pandemic

Fresh from a 2 month absence as supply disruptions blossomed into a full scale crisis Department of Transportation Secretary Mayor Pete took time from his busy schedule of calling out "racist" roads and bridges to explain the problem to we the ignorant masses.

Quote:
There are definitely going to continue to be issues, especially as long as the pandemic continues, right? If you have, for example, the third largest container port in the world in China shutting down because of a COVID outbreak in late summer, you’ll feel that in the fall here on the West Coast,” Buttigieg told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday
First he issues the Biden administration standard excuse, blame it on the pandemic. Shutting off inputs into the supply chain ought to produce a reduction in the amount of cargo arriving at ports like Long Beach. Instead, the number of ships waiting to offload increased exactly the opposite of what would happen if inputs to the supply chain had suffered a major disruption.

While Mayor Pete was enjoying his newly expanded family life while the American People were left to eat cake the Biden administration adopted half-baked solutions to cover for his absence.

Quote:
Wallace pointed out that since*Biden announced that the Port of Los Angeles*was going to operate 24/7, the*number of cargo ships waiting offshore*has increased from 56 to 77, and at the Port of Long Beach 2,000 appointments for truckers went largely unused.*

“Now, we’re taking the actions that we know that we can as an honest broker in the administration, phenomenal work by our ports envoy, working with different players to get the gates of the ports open longer, to work with the truckers, the rail players, we’re seeing expanded hours — all of that’s good,” Buttigieg said.
To Mayor Pete just like the rest of the riders in the Biden clown car if it sounds good it is good enough to repeat as if it's working. Don't look at results, declaring it "good" is more important.

Oh wait, Mayor Pete wasn't done blame shifting. The greedy, entitled American people with their ridiculous demands share the blame. But don't worry, just trust the Biden administration with trillions in slush funds to solve the problem.

Quote:
He said Americans are buying more goods but the supply chain is not keeping up the pace and suggested that President Biden’s trillion dollar bipartisan infrastructure plan and social spending package could help to beat back inflation and fix the supply chain woes.*

“For the long term, the best thing we can do about that is invest in our infrastructure. For the very short time, there are steps we can take in and around the ports that we think are helping,” Buttigieg told Wallace.*

The whole Biden Administration has the exact same talking point irrelevant of the topic...

Given Pete's well known expertise on a variety of subjects, I'll hold judgement on his thoughtful warnings.

What would you do as transportation secretary or President to fix the problem? Serious question.

Short and quick answer: Exactly the opposite of what the Brain Dead Admin is doing.

Serious answer, fire Mayor Pete. You don't just vanish from your post while a crisis is erupting like he did. He whines about how much work he had to do taking care of his new children when millions of Americans, mostly mothers, would be overjoyed to spend time with their young children. He was hired not because of any expertise but because Biden’s handlers wanted to check a box on the diversity box.

With Mayor Pete consigned to the so-called drudgery of parenthood. I'd appoint Elaine Chao as Secretary of Transportation. As an Asian female she ought to be catnip to Biden’s equity police. She'd immediately be targeted because she has relevant experience, is married to Mitch, and worked in the Trump administration. Never mind we didn't have anything remotely like the current problems when she was DOT Secretary or that Mayor Pete is clueless about how to fix it, the purge of the Bad Orange man takes priority over the suffering of the American People.

The fact of the matter is, there are easy ways to fix this crisis, the fastest of which would be to roll back onerous regulation that is preventing private industry to deal with it in the most efficient manner.

The problem is that I honestly believe that this admin wants this crisis along with many of the other crisis's that they are perpetuating as a means of consolidating power. There is no way that this group of people is this incompetent that everything they touch turns into a disaster. This has to be by design.

Wow, you really put a lot of work into that conclusion.

Confronted with the fact Mayor Pete was absent while the crisis worsened and that there are more ships waiting to be unloaded than before the Joe Brain Damage order to keep the port open 24/7, the response is no one could do better. Ignore the empty store shelves and skyrocketing prices, it's as smarmy Psaki says the tragedy of the treadmills, let them eat cake.
