Default Biden really blames Trump

In his nationally televised speech yesterday, Joe Biden proclaimed that he "bear[s] responsibility for fundamentally all thatís happened of late"--and then added, "But here is the deal. ...[T]he former president made a deal with the Taliban that he would get all American forces out of Afghanistan by May 1. In return, the commitment was made ó and that was a year before. In return, he was given a commitment that the Taliban would continue to attack others but would not attack. I think they have an issue that people are likely to get hurt, some as weíve seen have gotten killed, and that it is messy. The reason why, whether my friend will acknowledge it or has reported it, the reason why there were no attacks on Americans as you said from attacks in America from the date until I came into office was because the commitment was made by President Trump. I will be out by May 1st. In the meantime, you agree not to attack any Americans. That was the deal. Thatís why no Americans were attacked." [Bold added]

In other words, President Biden is "responsibl[e]"--well, sorta-kinda, anyway--but it is really Donald Trump's fault.

What is that old saying about the conjunction, "but"?

I think it goes something like this:

"But" is a word that means: Forget all that I have said up to this point. Here comes the real scoop.

Guys,,,; THAT WAS THE PLAN!
Ruin American Prestige and install a woman of color into the Oval Office.

Forget and forgive the dementia laden person hand picked by the Democratic Party to be installed and then make the disaster of exiting Afghanistan. And, like bad tenants who hadn't paid the rent, leave a disaster for the property owners. The People of Afghanistan.

Since President Trump had a goal date set, hurry up and screw up his exit strategy so he gets the blame.

Biden, who BTW was always wrong on foreign affairs, resigns claiming mental deficiency.

At the end game,,,Trump gets devalued as a 2024 candidate, and Kamal gets the Oval Office.

Genius? Maybe. But at the expense of American lives, treasure and integrity.

Biden is fixated on Trump's agreement to be out by May 1 while ignoring who was President on May 1. Biden decided to abandon Afghanistan some 3 months after the agreed upon date. Even with the extra time there was no apparent plan for the withdrawal, just an assumption that as Biden said in his pre vacation presser the Afghan army was a potent fighting force that would keep the Taliban at bay indefinitely.

Trump always conditioned his agreement with the Taliban on the facts on the ground. He warned the Taliban in no uncertain terms that failing to fulfill their commitments would result in dire consequences. After the destruction of the ISIS caliphate and the drone strike eliminating Iranian General Qassem Soleiman Trumpís word carried weight, enough to give a honeymoon from attacks on the US military even after Trump left office.

It was left to Biden the cool, calm expert to complete the withdrawal he botched it royally and now resorts to blaming Trump for the bloody disaster he authored. Not content with facilitating a horrible suicide bombing attack on refugees and American soldiers, the Biden administration has closed the airport gates while ordering any remaining Americans to disperse in preparation for abandoning them.

I think you missed a word somewhere in the beginning?
At any rate I see your point.
My opinion is that we need to get out of Afghanistan and notwithstanding Trump and Biden claims the other did a poorer job than himself, I thank both of them for the effort and pray the MIC doesn't find a way to stay.

Nobody is debating the US staying in Afghanistan. The issue is Bidenís raving incompetence finishing the withdrawal. Typical of Democrats it's blame someone else then call for an accounting on the 5th of never while media toadies dedicate their efforts to burying the story. After all, what difference does it make.

Joe Brain Damage is committed to pleasing the Taliban by pulling out the last of our troops no matter how many Americans he leaves stranded. The slaughter will be blamed on the Bad Orange man.

yeah well Nixon, who was still popular till toward the end of Watergate. Those refugees had to sell all the family's goods to buy a bar of gold to pay for the boat trip to the airlift. Sometimes they were screwed out of it and had to beg and steal-the whole family- to get on the boat.
It's good for the weapon manufacturers when you start a war you know you can't win, but bad for whatever politicians are in office.
Keeping America great!

That is a mere deflection.

You seem to think that merely bringing up another Republican president--from roughly half a century ago, yet--is sufficient ammunition...
