The fact is that Cohen is going to prison for three years for a series of felonies, including a criminal campaign finance violation that he acknowledged was done at the direction of Trump. You can pretend that it's not a big deal, but it is.

As a trained attorney you ought to be able to understand that what the NY district Federal prosecutors did was abuse their authority by coercing Cohen into a guilty plea for non criminal activity as a condition for his plea agreement on charges unrelated to Trump. Acting as Mueller's proxies the NY district prosecutors in effect criminalized any expenditure by a candidate not reported as a campaign contribution. Under this rabid Resistance police state policy when Beto O'Rourke puts a new set of wheels on the skateboard he uses at campaign rallies it's a so-called in kind campaign contribution.
As a lawyer you are doubtlessly aware that campaign finance reporting requirements do not include dual purpose payments, payments which have a personal benefit like a nondisclosure agreement pertaining to consensual sex more than a decade ago, made with personal funds obviously aren't campaign contributions.
It is sadly unsurprising that as a lawyer you are mute about the destruction of attorney client privilege by Mueller's proxy prosecutors. If your clients become politically unpopular in the eyes of an unelected, unaccountable special council acting as an extra Constitutional branch of government Federal marshals can ransack your office and home in search of "records". But, the Resistance requires destruction of quaint notions like attorney client privilege to save the Republic.
