Default Trumpís new ambassador to South Africa happens to be a Mar-a-Lago member

Quote:
Lana Marks has no diplomatic experience, a history of fabricating her past, and a skill-set devoted primarily to making six-figure designer handbags.
Quote:
But there’s one hobby that appears to qualify her to become the U.S.’s latest ambassador: a membership at the Mar-a-Lago Club.
Quote:
On Friday, the Palm Beach Daily News reported that U.S. President Donald Trump was tapping Marks to become the U.S.’s next ambassador to South Africa, confirming weeks of rumors surrounding the appointment.

The U.S. has not had an ambassador in Pretoria since 2016. Marks, who is originally from South Africa, has yet to comment on the appointment.
Quote:
Her nomination would mean that Mar-a-Lago, one of Trump’s favorite destinations, has now produced at least four individuals Trump has selected as ambassadors. In addition to Marks, Robin Bernstein, one of Mar-a-Lago’s founding members, became the U.S. ambassador to the Dominican Republic under Trump. Two other members — Patrick Park and Brian Burns — were nominated by the president to ambassadorial positions in Austria and Ireland, respectively, but eventually declined the nominations.
not to mention the three billy goat gruffers who run the VA.

Quote:
While Trump appears to be continuing a long-standing American tradition of nominating donors and supporters to relatively low-key ambassadorial positions, the selection comes at a period of relative friction between the U.S. and South Africa.

Earlier this year, Trump accused the South African government of not doing enough to combat so-called “large scale killing” in the country, allegedly against white South African farmers. While killings have taken place, the so-called “farm murders,” which have become a favorite talking point among the far-right, don’t appear nearly as treacherous as Trump made them out to be.
Quote:
Marks, though, appears woefully unqualified for the position. Not only are designer handbags her main claim to fame — some of which cost hundreds of thousands of dollars — but she has also been dogged by accusations of lying about her past accomplishments time and again.
SAY IT AIN'T SO

Quote:
For instance, Marks claimed that she had previously played tennis in the French Open — a claim that records don’t back up. The South African Business Live outlet also noted that Marks’ claim that she played in the 1985 Maccabi Games appears questionable. While Marks claimed she played for the Bermuda team, the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association noted that she had participated “without their knowledge.”
Quote:
Marks brings with her a satchel of legal troubles.

Quote:
As the Palm Beach Daily News wrote, “Marks has repeatedly been accused of stiffing her attorneys, accountants, landlords, and employees. She is also embroiled in bitter, international legal battles in South Africa and Israel with her siblings over a family trust and the care for their 89-year-old mother.”
link
Trump probably admired her for her ability to take on her family at her parent's most critical hour of need for them to be unified. reminded him of his screwing his own dad who was dying.

Oh!...All of a sudden the Left CARES!!!!...

Here's a map indicating TWENTY-THREE ambassadors that JUST HAPPENED to be people that bundled money for the Obama Campaign...

Another Obama fundraiser turns out to be a bad ambassador

Quote:
Candidate Barack Obama promised to end the time-honored American practice of appointing ambassadors who have no experience in foreign policy, but President Obama has completely ignored that promise, appointing fundraisers to dozens of ambassadorships all over the world.

Today, the State Department revealed that another fundraiser turned ambassador ran her embassy into the ground Ö only to return to fundraising and leave the State Department to pick up the pieces.

According to a new State Department inspector generalís report on the U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas, Ambassador Nicole Avant presided over ďan extended period of dysfunctional leadership and mismanagement, which has caused problems throughout the embassyĒ since she was appointed by the president in 2009. Prior to being Americaís envoy in the Caribbean, Avant was Southern California finance co-chairwoman of Obamaís presidential campaign and vice president of Interior Music Publishing.
Although Obama escalated the "time-honored American practice of appointing ambassadors who have no experience in foreign policy", the truth is EVERY president does this...at least a little...

Of course, the difference is when the Messiah did it, it was allowed, but when Trump does the same thing, even is a lesser capacity, what do we get?...

The point is this is an important post for the reason lies have been spread and indications a plan is afoot to influence that country's politics and social organization via our own American propaganda.

Salty, you need to be more specific in your accusations.

What lies? And by whom?

What plan is afoot?

Who is attempting to influence their government?

What propaganda?

What I know about South Africa is that the government is corrupt and the government is in the process of confiscating all land currently belonging to whites.

Ms. Lana Marks has some ties to South Africa. Not many do. She also lives in Florida, and golly gee, belongs to a country club in Florida. She also sells purses at prices far in excess of what I'd pay, but I'm not sure why that matters.

Great, so why is the person that was appointed by Trump the wrong person for the job? Simply having a membership to a Trump property does not exclude someone from being qualified to serve in that capacity.

What part of this ramble has anything to do with the choice of South African ambassadors?

Hint: Absolutely nothing. Just another rant to deflect the topic because she has nothing else to complain about.
