Build factories here, hire citizens, train them, and get to work. Quality control first. Myself, I avoid Chinese crap as much as possible.

Yes you can. It takes time and research, but reading labels and knowing who manufactured the goods you wish to purchase is a start. And stop buying crap products that have planned obsolescence.

And any number of those factories still stand. They would need refurbishing and staffing, equipment and raw materials... all a boon to the suppliers.

We actually still have the capabilities to produce a majority of common goods - but it won't happen overnight.

Factories will never be built or reopened as long as the Chinese are allowed to dump goods on the US market without penalty.

As usual Democrats offer no solution just complaints and blame. Trump is tackling the problem but Democrats can only see problems.

Remember Obama's position that job loss to overseas outsourcing is inevitable. Therefore nothing can be done about it.

and people don't know any of the sensible mind tools they used to build after WWII, unfortunately.
You can't avoid buying Chinese products today just a fact no matter how much you research. some component of that thing is made there with wages we cant compete with.
That said, I'd like to see us make stuff again.
