Post Senior White House Adviser Departs for Business Lobby Group

Quote:
Senior White House budget adviser Marcus Peacock is leaving President Donald Trump’s administration to become the second in command at a high-profile business lobby group in Washington that’s looking to increase its influence.

Peacock, a top policy expert in the Office of Management and Budget, joined the Business Roundtable Wednesday and will lead policy work on the group’s key issues related to Trump’s agenda, including tax legislation, infrastructure spending and regulatory reform, the roundtable said.

Peacock will recuse himself from lobbying OMB for six months, the roundtable said. When he joined the Trump administration, Peacock signed an ethics pledge required by the president that would’ve banned him from lobbying his former office for five years. The White House granted him a waiver from that commitment, the roundtable said. At OMB, Peacock served as a special government employee -- a temporary position that allows a person to work no more than 130 days in a year.

Repubs can't even be bothered to read the OP these days...
Get back to me when you've read it. I even bolded the portions where Trump's pseudo "drain the swamp" measures were ignored.
Until you've read it and can comment intelligently, I'm not wasting my time on somebody who won't even bother to read.

Meanwhile, I'll chalk you up as a documented "Repub / right-wing voters don't give a damn either".

Mr Peacock may well be more useful in the position at the business round table than as a Government employee.

He had hardly served in the administration, and a new position became available. One perhaps that he wanted, but was unavailable by the time he had become a member of the Trump team.

I see nothing here that speaks to anything improper here, just a man who switched jobs, to help rebuild our economy.

Not the claimed boogy man at all.

Regards, Kirk

Perhaps instead of another reflexive Trump hate attack you would read the OP. Peacock had served in the Trump administration less than 4 months he agreed not to lobby for longer than he served. The Trump administration granted him a waiver after the 6 months.

It is another fake scandal designed to deflect attention from important issues like the Obama administration perverting our intelligence agencies into partisan political weapons.

I read enough to understand this was a looking for a gotcha story. There are so many gotcha attempts floating around that it's not worth the bother to read every line of every new liberal story.

But I did go back and reread this one. And arrived a slightly different conclusion.

Somebody who had been employed in a temporary position for 4 months found a permanent gig and took it. Liberals are upset because Trump.

I feel better now.
