The NEA stopped giving grants to individual artists back in the 90's.

Turns out that's partially correct, but misleading.

NEA does not fund artists individuals, but encourages funded groups to do so, in all possible ways.

He is an idiot. He has no idea when any of these groups do. Know why? Because he is an idiot.

It is absolutely correct and not misleading to say the NEA doesn't give grants to individual artists.

There I corrected the misleading statement!
But federal money does find its way to individual artists and groups. By way of NEA funded groups giving money to individuals. NEA encourages this. By their own statement on their own web site.

I heard on the news they are going to cut the funding of NPR and NPTV as well. I have hoped they would stop using my tax dollars for the leftist NPR.

Time to cuts costs hard. Time to do away with the left wing bias in all things.
