Default Obama: 'We don't yet have a complete strategy' against ISIS

Nine months in (!!!!!!) and Obama blames Iraq and the Pentagon for him not commanding...

...Just like a good leader does...

Obama: 'We don't yet have a complete strategy' against ISIS

Quote:
President Obama said Monday the United States does not have a complete plan to train and equip Iraqi forces to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), saying Baghdad needs to show a greater commitment to building a fighting force.

“We don’t yet have a complete strategy,” Obama told reporters during a news conference at the G-7 summit of leading industrial nations in Germany.
Obama’s comments are a surprising admission nine months into the U.S.-led coalition’s campaign against the terror group.

Earlier on Monday, the president pledged ramped-up assistance to Iraqi forces during a meeting with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, who has pleaded with coalition partners for more military and intelligence backing.

The president said the Pentagon is working on a plan to increase the flow of weapons and provide more training to Iraqi forces so they can keep pace with ISIS fighters, who have made recent gains, including taking the key city of Ramadi.
"Keep pace"...

Because that's how to defeat an enemy...By "keeping pace"...

Quote:
But Obama also called on the Iraqi leader to do more to recruit fighters to government forces and Sunni militias fighting ISIS extremists.

“What is fair to say is that all the countries in the international coalition are prepared to do more to train Iraqi security forces if they feel that additional work is taken advantage of,” he said.

Obama said the Pentagon has yet to submit a "finalized" plan "because it requires commitments on the part of the Iraqis as well about how recruitment takes place, how that training takes place."
Does anyone really believe that Obama is waiting on the friggin' Pentagon"?????...

This is from THREE WEEKS ago...Notice White House spokesman Eric Schultz...I bolded it and made it big and everything...

Pentagon: No major review underway on strategy to defeat ISIS

Quote:
Despite the fall of Ramadi to the Islamic State, the Pentagon has not been asked by the White House to conduct a wholesale review of the strategy to defeat ISIS, multiple defense officials told Fox News.

A senior military official confirmed that the Obama administration is looking into arming Sunni tribes to help retake Ramadi, taking a page from the "Anbar Awakening" when 30 tribes united in 2006 to defeat Al Qaeda in Iraq with support from the U.S. military.

But multiple defense officials said these arms would not go to the Sunni tribes directly.

"I don't see that happening, everything goes through Baghdad," a defense official told Fox News.

White House spokesman Eric Schultz, speaking with reporters on Wednesday, also confirmed "no formal strategy review" is underway.
So three weeks ago we have the Obama Administration ON RECORD saying "There's no formal strategy review" being conducted...

...and TODAY, Obama blames the Pentagon for being unable to submit a finalized plan...

You know...One that's not being conducted and one that's not being asked for...

Because we can't get anyone but Iran to fight them. America is not going to do this alone.

I thought there was a strategy as outlined last year.

1. It's Isil not Isis.
2. Convince us that Isil is not really Islamic.
3. No ground forces but many air strikes
4. Lead broad coalition to roll back Isil.
5. "Hunt down terrorists" where ever they are.
6. Work with UN security council.
7. Train and equip Iraqis.

Typical of a first rate leader, first downgrade the enemy to the JV team, then admit that halfway through the game, you have no idea how to defeat a JV team.

You thought there was a strategy to defeat ISIS but the President says otherwise. Which is more likely to US foreign policy? Obama and the Democrats are constantly demanding critics of his failure to take on ISIS in a meaningful way come up with alternatives for him to politicize by smearing them as war mongers. My, true leadership in action.

Obama's ME policy by default is retreat and self imposed defeat while blaming Bush and the Republicans for his failure. We have seen this policy play out with complete abandonment of Libya after helping terrorists take over the country. Yemen has been left to a similar fate including Americans living in the country. Syria has been abandoned to a bloody war between a brutal dictator and ISIS. Iraq is pretty much on its own with Afghanistan soon to follow. Obama's only real interest in the region is in signing any kind of sham deal he can get with the Iranian theocracy.

Let's put it like this, 6 years in office and this bozo still doesn't have a clue what a leader is.

Oh the horror. You want us to send our men and women to get slaughtered without clear goals or even fuzzy ones?
Putting together the local troops WAS part of our strategy against a fanned out mobile enemy. The futher ruckers do NOT want to fight.
So fluck 'em.

The only one using these terms of blind slaughter without goals is you.The thread is about Obama's failure to develop a strategy to defeat ISIS, care to comment.

Is this an example of Obama being like Eisenhower?
