For those who don't understand the comment I made in the OP ("Because words speak louder than actions...")

Obama would like to inform you Ho Chi Minh was totally inspired by Thomas Jefferson

Quote:
While Sterling Beard notes that this may be “factually true,” it is, at the very least, morally and politically problematic to throw Thomas Jefferson out as an “inspiration” to a man whose very name is shorthand for the slaughter of millions. You don’t even have to know anything about history to know that the likes of Stalin and Ho Chi Minh are not on the list of people you should be tacitly praising. Sure, there are communist chic figures like Che Guevera who made it out of history with their crimes covered and their murderous legacies masked by cool t-shirts, but Ho Chi Minh doesn’t even make it into that category. The ranks of the communist chic are a lot bigger in a tony, super-liberal, yuppy radical neighborhood like Hyde Park, but surely Obama learned to put such things out of his vocabulary better than this. Nope. My guess is this is where this comes from. He’s speaking off the cuff, he’s trying to be agreeable, and he reverts to a comfort zone of calmly stated professorial radicalism that was a-okay in the parlors of Hyde Park. He doesn’t think about being utterly careless with the legacy of those who fought and died in Vietnam, those who perished at the hands of leaders like Ho Chi Minh, and those who escaped them but still suffer trauma.
To be clear, Obama basically sais "The guy killed his own people by the hundreds of thousands, but he wrote a cool letter to a US president about the Founding fathers, so we should, at least, give him props for that."...

Oh cool, a right-wing blogger takes something Obama noted from a letter written to Truman with Sang, acknowledges as "factually true" and then jumps into this evidence-free pool of ideologically slanted speculation. Is the "Obama's a socialist/communist/collectivist!" gruel running that thin?

Sigh smiley works, I don't like anger. Anger is a wasted emotion on the internet, disappointment is so much more subtle and versatile.

To be fair though, I'd be mad too I guess if I swallowed this kind of tripe on a constant basis. I can't wait for the next episode when Obama orders Chinese takeout, "Obama enjoys commie cuisine, honors Mao with a side of rice".

First we have Jane Fonda visiting Viet Nam and telling the world how crappy the US is. Then we have John Kerry visiting Viet Nam and telling the world how our servicemen were animals attacking, killing and raping everything in site and now we have Barrack Obama visiting Viet Nam and telling the world what a great leader Ho Chi Minh was in spite of the fact that he was a Communist dictator who committed genocide against his own people.

Anyone see a pattern here?

Umm, we just hate the black man right? Isn't that the end game of the left? Can't disagree with the actions or what these people say it's just because there's a black president is why we don't like it.

We have photographic proof that Roosevelt met with Stalin...

If you or anyone thought that Stalin had ANY thought he was sincere in his words to Roosevelt based on "Hey! They got together and spoke!" (and NONE of his actions), than that would be beyond stupid...

Ho Chi Minh wrote a propaganda letter to Truman...

If you or anyone thought that Ho Chi Minh had ANY thought he was sincere based on nothing more than a letter (and NONE of his actions), than that would equally be beyond stupid...

It's a cryin' shame that Rush Limbaugh says he's inspired by the Founding Fathers and get ripped apart by fellow Americans, but when the guy who crated the Vietnamese Communist Party says it in a letter in the hopes that America doesn't get involved in jumping into their war with France, the same Americans who gnash their teeth at Limbaugh give Ho Chi Minh the benefit of a doubt...

Charles Manson could come out and say he's for government healthcare, thinks abortion is all about choice, and writes a letter to Obama saying he's the best president this country has ever had...

...and Liberals would agree with every damn word of it...

Now would any of them come out and say "Hey! Sure he's a nutcase, but he made some really good points!!!!"...

Of course not!...Why???...Because you DON'T look at the few sincere (or disingenuous) positives and forget the hundreds of negatives!!!!!...

This is the same logic of "Hitler made the trains run on time!" as if that made him an OK guy...

Which is EXACTLY what Obama just did...he tried to score points with a country over the bodies of the tens of thousands of dead American soldiers...right along with the hundreds of thousands of people that suffered, were tortured, and murdered under his regime...

But you know...he wrote a letter saying stuff that sounds nice, so it's all good...

Why? Because he resisted the Japanese, French and Americans for over 30 years while they killed millions of his people? His government sucks but that doesn't make him a Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Stalin, Mao, South African Presidents during Apartheid or that Chilean guy that I can't remember...
