Default Obama: Trayvon Martin 'could have been me'

100% political?...check

Dividing the country?...check

For Mikeyy wanting this issue to go away, he just watched the president jump into the deep end...

Obama: Trayvon Martin 'could have been me'

Quote:
President Barack Obama made a surprise appearance at the White House Friday to discuss African-Americans' reaction to last weekend's verdict in the George Zimmerman case, saying that "Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago."

He also suggested that the outcome of the case could have been different if Martin were white.

"If a white male teen would have been involved in this scenario," he said, "both the outcome and the aftermath might have been different."

The nation's first black president, Obama said that it is impossible for the African-American community to not view the Martin case without filtering it through a long history of racial discrimination.

"The African-American community is looking at this through a set of experiences and history that doesn't go away,"
he said.

Obama said that, before he was elected to the Senate, he was also profiled in department stores and viewed suspiciously on the street.

The president also nodded to the Justice Department investigation to see whether it makes sense to bring federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman. But he also urged state and local officials to review their own procedures to see how to improve their law enforcement practices.

He also called for a review of so-called "Stand Your Ground" laws, a central issue in the confrontation between Zimmerman and Martin.
Al Sharpton just got a thrill up his leg...

Just when you thought Obama couldn't tarnish his presidency further. I guess we can add race-baiter/hustler to his resume.

I don't understand the whining. I don't get where you have a problem. Blacks are profiled. He is speaking to things he knows about. What is the problem?

How did he tarnish anything. Do you guys think he should ignore the differences in how blacks are treated so white people feel better?

Yes he shoulda ignored this. Instead of tryn' to reach out to the Sharpton/Jackson idiots who think everything in the world is about race, I would rather Obama concentrate on the astronomical deficit, high unemployment rate, and other s**t that actually matters. Instead he wants to get his mug in front of the camera and play the race card.

F**k Obama. If he spent more time on important s**t and less time over insignificant crap like this the country would be better off and he wouldn't be in jeopardy of goin' down as one of the worst presidents of all time.

Why, The entire country is looking at it. The President is black and you think he shouldn't mention it?

It's sad that you think that just because Obama is black he should ignore any issue that has a race aspect. There are more people who have interest in race then Sharpton and Jackson.

F**k Obama.
Yeah, where does he get off addressing something the country is talking about.

[/QUOTE]Here you go again with the idea that Obama is not allowed to address anything to do with race or he is Jackson. That is just plain stupid.

It is not his damned job to be a race baiting SOB! I wish people would stop looking at the incompetent imbecile as saintly and all-wise.

obama just can't keep his foot out of his mouth. Once again he proves what a racist he is. I will say this, the only thing obama has accomplished is he has divided this country like no other person could have.
