Shadow accounting, smoke and mirrors, whatever you want to call it.

My understanding of the OP is that it's not the actual cost, it is unrealized revenues that won't be gained.

Talk about symantics......

If a child is too poor to afford food, I could care less if his parents are "legal residents" or not; he has to be fed.

Anyway, don't pretend you support free lunches for legal American citizens who live in poverty, or their children. We're all familiar with your posting history, and are well aware of your position on welfare.
It is very easy to be generous with other people's money which is what you are doing with your generosity with tax dollars. There are not infinite dollars to provide tax supported lunches for children. So should the children here legally have priority over the illegals? Please try to answer like an adult this time.

You are merely exposing your prejudice with the implication I want to starve the poor. I work and donate to a privately funded feeding program. As Warren Buffet says private charity is far better focused and effecient than government.

We got a credit downgrade thanks to the scumbag tea bag republicans already last summer.

It's just more budget whining from the party that crashed the economy. They need to be reminded of this all the time.

Seriously... the cost of providing children with lunch is nothing compared to the cost of educating them.
If we're going to insist that the children of "illegals" sit in school eight hours a day at taxpayer expense, it doesn't make much sense that we wouldn't feed them during that eight hours.
Small children can't go that long without eating, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or country of origin. They're children. Their little bodies are fragile, and they need to eat during the day, whether or not their parents have money.

Another non responsive comment. The question is not the parents having money. Who is the "we" you mention you are not contributing in any meaningful amount. It is just generosity with other peoples money. Why should they be enslaved to make you feel better.
