Obama caps Christmas by visiting US troops - Yahoo! News

Snip,
Quote:
President Barack Obama capped a quiet Christmas Saturday with a surprise visit to a Marine base to thank U.S. troops for the sacrifices they've made, including being away from their families at the holidays.

The president, along with his wife, Michelle Obama, spent more than an hour shaking hands and hugging service members who had arrived for Christmas dinner at the mess hall at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. It's the third year in a row the Obamas have visited the base on Christmas.

Wow, what a profound sacrifice, interrupting his taxpayer funded Hawaiian beach vacation for a couple of hours to visit the troops. He could have visited the wounded at Walter Reed during his "staycation" at the WH or Camp David. Staycation being a term so many of us are necessarily familiar with thanks to his failed economic policies. But hey the Dear Leader hates the cold Washinton winters so that would have made it inconvenient for him to remain.

I have plenty of things to disagree with and lay blame at Mr Obama for.
I will also give credit where credit is due. This is a rare time that I support his action.

It's not hateful to point out the syncophancy of effusively praising the Dear Leader for taking an hour or 2 out his latest extravagant vacation to use a routine visit to the troops as a backdrop to a photo-op. There is nothing wrong with pointing out his third consecutive annual visit to the same Marine base was a trifling side-show to his primary objective, a Hawaiian vacation at taxpayer expense.

Yes, the Dear Leader did a good deed by visiting the troops but it is not as if opportunities weren't available far closer to home. This one just happened to fit in his vacation plans, as such it doesn't merit praise as some sort of extraordinary act.

You are full of crap. It's just plain hate. Did you want Obama to stay with them all day and play games like that other president did. Oh wait. What President did? And how many troops were at GWB's ranch?

I'm with you on this one Pat.

I don't care who the President is, when they do the right thing they will always have my support.
