Imus was let go because he he wouldn't endorse GE's favored candidates during the run-up to the 2008 election.

As George Will would say:
Well. To me there's blackface, and then there is dressing up as a specific person. Of course, I'm not black so my opinion doesn't count (which I kinda understand to a point but not to the point of being completely dismissed without any consideration.)

I don't find it offensive when someone is depicting a particular celebrity, any more than I would find it offensive if someone used green to depict the Jolly Green Giant.

Absolutely not offensive and it doesn't matter if it was, she should still not be punished for wearing a damn Halloween costume.

I have no idea who the hell she's dressing up as, I just know there's a long history of not condoning white people dressing up as black people and 'acting black'. Have you seen the Harry Connick Jr. clip from Australia? I find that totally offensive as well.

![]() Making fun of black people in general (especially by using stereotypes) and making fun of a specific black person are two completely different things - your ignorance of who she dressed up as doesn't change that. I'll look at the video when I get home - maybe I'll bend some then.

Making black people, be it some rapper or the Jackson 5, look like buffoons by doing black face is totally, totally inappropriate in my book. I posted the clip so people could hear from Harry exactly why MOST Americans (obviously not the ones on this forum) don't approve of that racist crap. Who knew someone could actually be entertained by that grotesque ****. I had no idea until now that this forum consisted of a bunch of old white racists... Perhaps everyone here simply needs to educated in the history of our culture...
