a big shift from recent polling numbers.
favor of removal has gone up too though only a bit, which is good cuz we need to hear the articles and have a trial first; hello.

300M + and they sample 1007. Much less as part of the WaPo…..

Try again, with something a little more realistic.

If Resistance Democrats really believed 58% of the voters agreed with an impeachment inquiry they would put it up for a floor vote. If Resistance Democrats thought they had a case they'd allow Republicans to call witnesses and subpoena evidence. Instead, Democrats hold backroom hearings closed to the public so they can lie about what was said and they live in terror of the prospect of Republicans being able to mount a defense of Trump.

there will be a vote after all the evidence available is brought forward.

Or -and I hope this won't happen-if the administration refuses to allow testimony and/or documents-there will perhaps be an article of obstruction they'll vote on.
at any rate, the house sets the rules in that matter.
this is not a trial but more like a grand jury. but still different from a grand jury. a unique proceeding.
a trump appointee deemed the matter urgent and the whistle blower credible. so here we are.

The last 2 impeachments began with the House voting for an inquiry. As previously stated a floor vote brings legitimacy to the exercise and allow both sides to develop evidence. Having the Speaker simply declare an impeachment inquiry exposes the effort as a partisan hack bent on usurping the election.

I note the absence of any attempt to address the points raised in the comment.

These same polls are the ones who put now President Trump at 600/1 underdog at this time in the 2016 election cycle.

First we, meaning the Democrats, need to figure out what they are having a hearing about. As of now they are fishing.

How many billions of dollars have been spent of the taxpayers money, without our consent, to fuel a program of hate and divisiveness?

Couldn't have been that urgent, considering the sat on it a while. The initial complaint was based on hearsay and not direct knowledge. Yeah, that sounds credible.

Let's see what comes of the second person, who is supposedly validating the complaint, though on the basis of the transcript, I'm not seeing anything of major value.

If you look closer, you'll see a 5% Democrat advantage in the poll...

Also, over 35% declared themselves as Independents (more than both Dems and Repubs in the poll)…

A) Are they lying to skew the polls?

B) What percentage of Independents are "Liberal" and "Conservative"?...We'll never know, making the poll vague...

I never put too much into polls, one way or the other. Usually, whoever commissions the poll has a preconceived outcome they wish to demonstrate and will work the poll to get the desired result. In 2016, most polls showed that Clinton would win the election and most of those that commissioned the poll wanted that result. We all see how that went.

And they weren't "squeakers" either...

They had Hillary winning going away...They had the polls set up to make it a foregone conclusion...
