Yes, just voting for someone else is not enough. We have to be active and stop his reelection. Or we deserve what we get.

For those that voted (for either one) for the lesser of evils, what happens if the DNC once again puts up a worse evil?

I'm not one to do the 'lesser of' vote, so exactly what do you recommend?

How I wish we weren't scraping the bottom of the barrels....

I've thought about this too.
It will be interesting to see if the main Democrat message for the next presidential election will be 'just stop Trump', rather than having a decent candidate or message.
And will they continue to lean almost entirely on the concept of the identity candidate?

I find it amusing how, under Obama, there were right-wingers demonstrating a gleeful posting zeal over perceived Obama "low numbers" ...
But that was never questioned "by some" ( ) here.

Now with Trump, the "motive" has to suddenly be known.
And is suspect...

The majority of this country found Trump to be the greater of the two evils.
But of course, due to our system skewing the vote to make millions of millions of votes irrelevant, this goes ignored.

Regardless, I find it amusing how many people don't appreciate how Trump devolved the situation into a gutter fight. He drags the system down into an area he has more expertise in...

So quite frankly, whoever the DNC puts up in 2020 (if Trump isn't removed from the board by then) will have to be adept at fighting against that.

I think the real problem for 2020 will be 4 years of Trump. And despite the solid faith of his kool-aid drinkers, his methods have no intelligible reason to produce real results.
My expectation is that we'll have another recession before 2020. Obama served 8 years getting us out of a recession and avoided having another one. In and of itself, a good feat.

Trump's going to have to run with his track record. And while Trump will insist from the podium that he has been the "best ever", the kool-aid drinkers will be the only ones believing it.

I do not doubt the accuracy of the poll quoted.

As it noted, however, about 91 percent of Trump voters--or roughly 10 out of every 11--are in the "approval" camp.

And it is not surprising that "not much" has been accomplished--legislatively, at least--since Chuck Schumer & Co. have decided upon the "Resistance" strategy: attempting to block anything the president proposes. (I will say, however, that President Trump shares some of the blame for ObamaCare's not being repealed; he did not stump for it, the way he did for tax reform.)

Outside the legislative arena, President Trump has accomplished much, I think, in his nominating Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court (and, of course, seeing him confirmed). This could help to shape American law for the foreseeable future.

And this is this is our real problem. Professional Politicians are the bottom of the barrel.

Aaaaaand now he's back down to 41% in Rasmussen polls.
Daily Presidential Tracking Poll - Rasmussen Reports

It's more realistic to look at the aggregate of the polls combined rather than cherry pick whichever is highest.

And in looking at that, it's easily recognized that Rasmussen is the highest number out there...
The aggregate today puts him at 37.9%

If these were Obama numbers, the right would be screaming them from the roof-tops.
But since it's Trump's numbers, it's either fake news or they only look when he's up slightly...
