Post Ouch: 84 Percent of Dems Prefer Paul Ryan to Lead GOP Over Trump

Quote:
Democrats around the country really do not want Republican nominee Donald Trump to take control of the GOP and change the future outlook of the party. As a matter of fact, 84 percent of those polled in a NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking said they chose Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, while only four percent picked Trump.

In the same poll, 63 percent of Republicans Trump and 34 percent picked Ryan. The online survey polled 32,225 likely voters from Oct. 17 to Oct 23.

In a favorability rating contests between Trump and Ryan, Trump leads the 20 year politician by more than 23 points in a recent poll.

And in Ryan's home state of Wisconsin, in Green Bay, thousands chanted "Paul Ryan Sucks!" at a Republican presidential nominee rally.

I found the poll fascinating.
Trump has been incredibly divisive. When the thread on Republicans surviving an internal "civil war" came up, I thought they had a strong, respectable leadership in Paul Ryan. After Trump leaves, one problem will be overcoming how Trump has poisoned some in the party against Paul Ryan.

Finding out 1 in 3 would like Paul Ryan as Repub leadership helps put an understanding of the numbers within the GOP that has not been poisoned against Paul Ryan.

Of course they do. Ryan has a record of ignoring or going along with whatever the establishment politicians want. That includes Democrats.

Ryan as much as any Democrat is the reason for Trump.

One of the things I find amusing is how the GOP has courted the far right wing vote and the "anti-establishment" mentality. For the longest time, they tried to aim that mentality at the Dems...

And now it's coming back to bite the GOP in the arse.

One thing that many on the right refuse to admit is that if Obama had been busted with half the crap Trump has done, you guys would be screaming for a guillotine.
But with Trump, he insults blacks, women, Mexicans, POWs ...
You guys just don't care.

The phrase "you get the respect you give" comes to mind. And when it comes to Trump, he doesn't give respect. You disagree with him and regardless of who you are it's all out war.
With Paul Ryan, the guy is respectable.

None of which has anything to do with your OP.

Out of ideas already?

You don't think me talking about WHY the Dems prefer Paul Ryan over Trump is relevant to the OP with the subject line "84 Percent of Dems Prefer Paul Ryan to Lead GOP Over Trump"

And me talking about the origins of the "anti-establishment" mentality that was fostered in the GOP was a reply to your comment.

Your post. My computer must have deleted the pertinent parts:

Paul Ryan's signature accomplishment as speaker is the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill giving Obama and the Democrats virtually anything they wanted. Why wouldn't Democrats prefer him over a businessman skilled at managing spending.

"managing spending"?
How many times has he filed for bankruptcy again?

And your bizarre claim on "giving Obama and the Democrats virtually anything they wanted" is too absurd to even warrant a response.

Approximately .1%. Another .4% Chapter 11 reorgs.

The other 99.5% Trump has turned into a top .5% net worth.
