National election give a general outlook, but don't take too much stock in predicting a winner...

Many (most?) states are already locked in as to who they're going to vote for...

Hillary has California...That's not going to change...

Trump has Texas...That's not going to change...

It's the states that are competitive that will choose the winner...That's why candidates go to the same 10-15 states over and over again...So the percentages in THOSE states are the ones that matter more...

As a general rule, Democrats get the big cities and the Republicans get the "Urban sprawl" and countrysides...If you removed the two most populous cities in each state, there'd never be another Democrat president again...

Very true.

I remember a stat from 9/11 that stated 85% of the people in the USA live in 28 "Metro-plex" area's in the country.

My bet is 85 or more % of the democrats live in urban area's. They depend on the cities they live in for the basics of life. Rural people depend on themselves and neighbors for those. Some how I believe this relates to why there are so many Democrats in urban area's.

Regards, Kirk

I didn't know you knew everyone in Dallas.

Years ago when Nixon won his presidential bid in 1968, William Buckley as I think told a story of a woman at a party who was aghast that Nixon had won, because she didn't know anyone who voted for him.

Just my......
