Terrorism, terrorism, and thirdly terrorism...

And it's not just the "bomb citizens in the market" terrorism...

It's the "coming in and changing the West's way of life" terrorism that is equally important...

The economy ranks first and foremost. Terrorism is still important but we need a strong economy to keep the fight going effectively. I am also concerned about the populist rhetoric and socialist shifts I see coming if Obama is elected.

Bastards took my SUV. When you say changing the west's way of life. What do you mean? Warrantless wiretaps?

Nope...

Two words...."Sharia Creep"...

Sharia creep is a form of soft jihad whereas Muslims come to the West and push their beliefs without assimilating to the local customs and culture...

Here's one of many examples...

Quote:
Londonistan (Arabic spelling لندنستان) is an a pejorative sobriquet referring to the British capital of London. The variation Londinistan is also in use. The term refers to the freedom in which Islamists operated in London. Originating in France, it is commonly used in the French press.

These terms originated in 1995 from French counter-terrorism agents, as well as by the governments of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, because of the number of exiled Islamist groups that established political headquarters in the city, from which they may seek to overthrow governments they consider oppressive or heretical, or plan terror attacks on other European countries.

Britain's attractions for Islamist dissidents are said to include its historical commitment to freedom of speech and perceptions that victims of political repression receive asylum, access to temporary accommodation and some monetary support. 13,026 asylum seekers were being accommodated in London on 25 March 2005, according to statistics from the London Asylum Seekers Consortium.

The British government's perceived unwillingness to prosecute or extradite terrorist suspects provoked tensions with countries in which attacks occurred. Allegations of a British policy of appeasement of Islamists were made and denied; should such a policy have existed, it could no longer be considered a success.

The word is a portmanteau of the British capital and the Persian suffix -stan, meaning land.

I can't vote because there are three issues of equal importance to me

Equal time: economy and social issues and SCOTUS appointments

I don't like the choices. I have to say that most of the issues posted need to be addressed. I don't think we need to choose one.

That's why it says "TOP concern"...All have a level of importance based on individuality...

Personally, I think all of the issues are important...and there are issues of importance that are not listed...
In order of importance I would have to say:

1) Economy ....because without a robust economy, people cannot have access to any kind of quality of life, and social constructs begin to break down

2) War In Iraq ....until we get out of Iraq, and free from the quagmire of lost lives and the financial drain it imposes on the American people, our economy and our morale will continue to suffer

3) Terrorism ....until we address our open, porous borders, and we target, specifically Al-Qaeda, in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and acknowledge the complicity of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, then we are fooling ourselves, and had better brace for the next 9/11 type attack.

4) Climate Change ....are you kidding? If the polar ice caps melt (as they are doing), and coastal regions flood, and strain economy (and tourism), and population overcrowding are the results....things are going to go from bad to worse, and make Katrina and the midWest floods seem like a day's outing.

5) Health Care ...if we don't have universal healthcare for everyone...then you might as well tell large segments of the population to just "suffer and die". For some, that is no big deal...but for folks with loved ones, and family affected, it is a very big deal. Not saying that preventative medicine is not a component, and that people have to be sensible and pro-active in their own lives.
6 & 7) Immigration & Globalization are linked, inextricably...the problem of what to do about the illegals who are here, is problematic....some are assets, some are drains....some are criminal, more are law-abiding...globalization is about keeping competitive with jobs, education, and productivity. Duh!
8) and lastly, Social Issues (Abortion, Gay Marriage, etc.)
sadly, the last things to be considered, but critically important to many....goes along with the belief that everyone, meaning "everyone" is entitled to the American Dream, by being an American...you either embrace that belief, or you're something of a hypocrite.
