The tax dollars you payed in aren't yours, they never were they were just in transition to becoming "ours". This is pretty much the basis of my stance. Certain people don't look at what you earned as yours, they look at it as what you earned that is theirs.

This seems to be an unavoidable practice in civilization, but then, so is defecation. At least in the latter case, we do not pretend that it is ennobling.

You see, what we've done is to take the highwaymen, given them far more lethal weapons, organized them, put them in suits, given them pompous titles and ridiculous salaries, and sent them forth to take from the Productive for the alleged benefit of the Nonproductive.

There will come a day when those people who invested in gold and silver will wish they had invested in lead instead. The monkeys are beginning to expect their bananas served in bigger hands.

What's wrong with a little socialism is that it leads to more socialism requiring the government to play an ever increasing role in our lives to "protect" us. Medicare and Social Security work as long as there is a sufficiently large differential between the number of payers and recipients. It is easy to purchase votes by promising future benefits, something to run on as Democrat Wilbur Mills described Medicare to LBJ, when paying for these programs is left to future generations. The total unfunded liability of these 2 programs exceeds $100 trillion yet any attempt to reform them into something less dependent on the Federal government is beaten back with demogoging.

Obamacare represents a huge expansion of the Federal government's power in the name of fixing problems with the health insurance market created by government meddling. Dodd Frank places a secretive cabal beyond Congressional supervision in charge of the financial industry in the name of protecting us from another crisis caused by government meddling.

A little socialism in the Federal government rewards itself for problems it creates with more regulatory power to constrain the People's freedom. This is the opposite of Conservative philosophy that teaches personal responsibility as an obligation of freedom.

No one asks me if I want MY money used to buy Obamaphones or to line the pockets of UAW bosses. The common defense is an explicit duty of the Federal government per the Constitution. This is not the case with Federal wealth redistribution. Yet the funding for social program spending is on auto pilot while defense is considered discretionary. This inversion of spending priorities illustrates the problem with liberalism's ever increasing role for the Federal government.. Tax dollars are spent as directed by political convenience rather than per our governing document, the Constitution.
